The Marvel's Avengers roadmap continues to evolve in the months since it was shared with players, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The plan is a bit of a living document and takes and planned features shift around as each month comes and goes. Now that June's biggest release, the Cosmic Cube content, is live; the community is getting an updated map with more accurate plans for what is arriving in June before War for Wakanda drops in August.

There are some items that have been shifted around on the calendar, but most notably the July plans are now very focused on endgame content. This is great news for the hardcore players who have stuck with the game since launch and have been aching for some more challenging content to switch up the usual weekly grind in Marvel's Avengers.

That said, the July content does include one exciting change that players of any level will be able to enjoy. Apparently the Tachyon Event was so well-received that players will soon be able to "play as any combination of their favorite Heroes permanently." That means that players are free to roll into a challenge with a Strike Team of four Hulks or two Captain Americas or any other combination of duplicate heroes. This is a major shift to the metagame and it will be very interesting to see if any boss fights need to be rebalanced to account for the change.

July Road Map changes

Patrol Mode Delay

"Patrol Mode is being moved past the War for Wakanda Expansion."

As some players had suspected, Patrol Mode isn't going to make its debut as early as originally planned. Unfortunately this new style of play is going to have to wait until September (at the earliest) to allow the team to instead roll out some additional options for endgame players next month to get all of that in place before War for Wakanda goes live in August.

July Endgame Content Plans

"We wanted to focus on end-game content before the War for Wakanda Expansion released, which meant getting the first OLT and multiplayer Mega Hives in July. In addition, we wanted to get Omega-Level Threat: Family Reunion out sooner rather than later because that same team will be part of the team that is working on the Power Level increase coming later this year, and the OLT had to come first. The War for Wakanda Expansion is unaffected and is still slated to release in August."

After months of grinding through the same Priority tasks on a weekly basis and powering through Mega Hives, it sounds like the game's highest level characters are finally about to get some exciting new challenges. Although it's disappointing to see Patrol Mode delayed, the shift to pushing out new endgame content on a faster timeline definitely seems like a wise move. Marvel's Avengers needs to retain its most dedicated audience and giving endgame players some new challenges with enticing rewards before War for Wakanda launches definitely seems like a good start down that path.

"Omega-Level Threat: Family Reunion will be our toughest content to date when it releases in July, which culminates in a chaotic fight against the Super-Adaptoid – this time, with astonishing new abilities. Multiplayer Mega Hives will also see an increase in difficulty, but will take less time to complete due to cutting the number of Heroic Gauntlets required in half (from 8 to 4)."

New "In Development" Section

A smaller tweak to the Roadmap has changed the "Additional Content and Features" section to be labelled as "In Development." This subtle shift in language is meant to signal that any of those features or changes are on the way eventually, but will come after anything outlined in the dated sections above. So don't expect any of that to arrive before War for Wakanda.
