Marvel's Avengers is one of the most anticipated games releasing in 2020 by far and Square Enix have slowly been releasing more and more information about the game since E3 earlier this year. One major feature that's being focused on over the last couple of weeks are unique abilities for each hero called Heroic Abilities, and Iron Man's Unibeam is the latest one to be revealed.

Each of the five main heroes in Marvel's Avengers will have three Heroic abilities that fit into three categories: Support, Assault, and Ultimate. Heroic abilities operate on a cooldown timer, meaning that players will need to pick and choose when each ability is best used in order to help their team and synchronize the various attacks and buffs.

Iron Man, played by Nolan North, is the latest hero to be put under the spotlight with the reveal of his Unibeam Assault ability. The Unibeam attack was featured during the Marvel's Avengers gameplay demo that released online last month, where Iron Man powers up his Arc Reactor over time, before unleashing a powerful continuous beam that destroys anything in its path.

Iron Man harnesses his armor's functionality - assisting the team & blasting enemies from afar. Powering up his Arc Reactor, Iron Man unleashes his Assault Heroic - the Unibeam - which fires a continuous beam of concentrated muon particle energy, destroying anything in its path.

Unibeam is only the first of three unique abilities that Iron Man will have in his arsenal, with the Support and Ultimate abilities yet to be shown, and is sure to come in handy against the A.I.M., the primary antagonists in Marvel's Avengers.

Knowing that such a powerful ability like Unibeam is Iron Man's Assault Heroic is very exciting. Assault abilities are used purely for dealing damage to enemies and Support abilities are used to benefit the entire team on one way or another. This still leaves the third Heroic, the  Ultimate ability, which is said to showcase the strength and role of that hero, meaning that Square Enix still has something big up their sleeves for each one of the Avengers.

Marvel's Avengers releases May 15, 2020, for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
