Almost a month before the game even releases, Crystal Dynamics has already started to discuss what Marvel's Avengers has planned for players post-launch. However, what the developer has planned is much more than DLC heroes like Hawkeye, but highly rewarding end-game content that will test players' abilities and team dynamics as they build themselves up to be the world's greatest heroes.

Taking to Reddit to help build anticipation for Marvel's Avengers, War Zones Director Philippe Therien and Game Designer Lauryn Ash participated in an Ask-Me-Anything. The AMA began early July 31st, with the two developers starting to answer questions from 2:00 PM PDT until around 3:00 PM PDT, addressing player queries about everything from the upcoming Avengers beta, to end-game content.

One of the most impressive concepts that Therien and Ash commented on during the AMA is that raid-like events will be available within weeks of release. This end-game content seems to be different than the War Zones available in Marvel's Avengers, as the missions seem to have their own name that Therien chose not to elaborate on, likely waiting for the marketing team to announce the activity. However, the developer did go deeper in the explanation of the high-difficulty, co-op battles by describing that these raid-like experiences can take up to 1-2 hours, depending on both how powerful the players are, and how well the team coordinates their strategies.

As the developer continued to answer questions, Therien also began elaborating on specifically how players can interact with the these activities, specifically whether or not players can complete them with AI, or if matchmaking will be available. The answer to a somewhat unrelated question about Solo play, wound up touching on the topic of high-level content, in which Therien confirmed that there will be end-game events that require playing with other humans and not AI, but will have matchmaking. This likely means that the co-0p missions in Marvel's Avengers, especially in the end-game, will be too involved and complex for AI companions to be able to handle the strategies and tactics needed to win.

When it comes to this type of end-game content, some fans tuning into the AMA began to note some comparisons between this new Marvel title and games like Destiny. Even the release window of these raid-like experiences follows the Destiny format, releasing weeks after the game's initial launch in order to both finish the polish on the activity, and allow players to grind to the levels necessary to survive. This isn't a new comparison, though, as the Destiny-like loot system in Marvel's Avengers has led players to this conclusion before, even if the hero roster should be enough to solidify Crystal Dynamics new title as its own game.

Marvel's Avengers is set to release September 4th, for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with next-gen versions planned for PS5 and Xbox Series X.
