As many gamers move onto the next generation of consoles, some have found it comforting to know their old save data will not be long forgotten. One of the many features of the PS5 is that the console can transfer save data over from the PS4 to continue playing titles such as Bugsnax, God of War, and Marvel's Avengers.

While the process is not particularly complex, some gamers are having issues with the transfer process, specifically with the recent Marvel's Avengers. Many have reported crashing during the transfer, some completed trophies not popping up for them, and the same "error message: 107879-2" keeps popping up and stopping the download process.

On the game's official Twitter account, Square Enix announced the team is aware of the game's migrating issues, and that any lasting issues should be resolved by now. Fans need to simply launch the fully updated PS4 version and go into the main menu's migration tab. Once the migration is done, they can start the PS5 version, and there should be a prompt to download the data.

Square Enix goes into more detail saying that even if users have the PS4 and PS5 versions on the same console, save migration is still required to load the save on the PS5. Fans will need to download the latest version of the game, or else the save migration tab will not be available. Square Enix provides a link that fully goes over the transfer process for the PS5.

For gamers who are unsure of how the PS5 save migration data function works, start off by signing onto the same account on the PS5 that is on the PS4. If players are migrating data from separate consoles, then both PS4 and PS5 need to be logged onto the same exact network. Once that is done, synchronize the trophy information by pressing the Options button while viewing trophies, and select Sync with PlayStation Network. Finally, on the PS5 console, go into the system software tab in the setting menu and hit "Data Transfer."

Many Marvel's Avengers fans were not too happy with the late response from Square Enix. Some users replied to the tweet saying they had already deleted the PS4 version before downloading the PS5 version since they claimed the information by Square Enix was not clear enough. Hopefully, not too many fans are affected like this, and will be able to transfer their data will little to no problems now.

Marvel's Avengers is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
