Marvel's Avengers may be delayed to September, but Square Enix is still doing the work to ensure the game's launch is a major event. Square Enix took to the New York Toy Fair this weekend to reveal early plans for its Marvel's Avengers line of toys and figures. While there isn't a robust selection of toys just yet, Square Enix did reveal four action figures for the upcoming game. The figures are for Kamala Khan, also known as Ms. Marvel, Captain America, Iron Man, and a surprise villain.

The villain in question is Abomination, one of the Hulk's greatest enemies. The Abomination was revealed in late 2019, so the reveal that he has a figurine isn't a huge surprise. Still, it does imply a larger role in the game than those watching Marvel's Avengers may have predicted. Otherwise, it's not like they've revealed a figure for MODOK yet or anything.

Each of the superhero figures is wearing the standard uniform they've been shown in from the game already. Captain America is wearing his royal blue uniform that was met with some criticism when the game was first announced, while Iron Man is in his standard red and gold. Ms. Marvel is shown in her uniform as well, even though the trailers featuring her so far have mostly shown her in her civilian clothes.

Also apparently mentioned during the presentation for the Marvel's Avengers figures were two other toys. There was a Black Widow figure as well as what was described as a "space suit" for Iron Man. The spacesuit for Iron Man is likely story-related, so players can look forward to that.

A watchful toy fan noticed that the Marvel's Avengers figures are part of the Marvel Legends Series of figures. After looking into it, they found that the normal Marvel Legends figure for Ms. Marvel is the same figure, including hands that can be swapped out where the left hand is a fist. At least Captain America's uniform is Marvel's Avengers is unique so the same standard figure can't be used.

Also announced at the toy fair was a line of Funk Pop figures for Marvel's Avengers. These include figures for Captain America, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Thor, Taskmaster, Hulk, and Black Widow. Almost all of them are wearing different superhero outfits than their characters are shown in the game wearing. Black Widow even has a crazy outfit with night vision goggles. It will be interesting to see how these toys fit into the game, plus what other toys Marvel prepares for the launch of Marvel's Avengers.

Marvel's Avengers releases September 4 on Google Stadia, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
