In the 46 weeks since Marvel's Avengers launched, the game has done a lot of growing based on player feedback, but there is still a lot of work to do. The development team has worked on becoming more transparent in recent months and, in addition to the longterm road map that highlights the major releases, the devs are also releasing shorter updates on a weekly basis.

The latest of the Marvel's Avengers developer updates highlighted some upcoming changes that will dramatically change the way that the weekly rotating content is presented and played through. It's clear that the devs are listening to player feedback and the outlined changes seem to be designed to help shift the weekly grind to a more enticing and rewarding structure for players who want to team up with other heroes and earn better rewards.

The two main changes are centered around the Mega Hive and the weekly Priority Missions. First off, the Mega Hives are going to offer multiplayer support. This is a huge shift for the game and is definitely something that that community has been vocal about requesting since the earliest days of the Mega Hive. In addition, Priority Missions will be changing to offer one, more challenging missions rather than the current two weekly mission structure. The change will also come along with some enhanced rewards that should offer a bit more motivation to power through the weekly content...

Upcoming Mega Hive Changes

"In response to frequent community requests, the upcoming update to Mega Hives will enable multiplayer support! In addition, we will be streamlining the rewards so that players will always receive the Hivemind Exotic gear when they complete the weekly mission."

Upcoming Priority Missions Changes

"Coinciding with the multiplayer Mega Hive update, we also wanted to enable players to earn even more Exotic gear per week. We are revamping the Priority Missions, which will now drop the additional Exotic gear set that was previously from Mega Hives. To make this content more compelling, we are combining the missions into a single weekly mission that will be higher Power Level to offer players more of the challenge they are asking for."

Some players have complained for a long time that a game built around multiplayer options requires players to go solo if they want to experience a Mega Hive, so this will definitely be a welcome change for that crowd. It's no secret that Marvel's Avengers has struggled to maintain a consistent player base since launch, so anything the game can do to appeal to more players and offer a variety of options for the endgame grind seems like a smart play. There was no timeline estimated for these changes, but players should keep an eye on the weekly blog updates for more details in the coming month.
