Marvel's Avengers from Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics offers a lot of content similar to the comics, as well as the recent MCU movies. With notable Avengers such as Hawkeye, gamers are able to create their dream teams to complete missions online.

While the game does offer a variety of skins from the MCU movies, many fans have been upset with the fact that they aren't as identical to the movie counterparts as they hoped. And with the newest Hawkeye skin being added to the game, this is no exception.

The Marvel's Avengers Twitter account recently posted a picture of a new skin for Hawkeye being released tomorrow that is identical to his darker costume in Avengers: Endgame. While some might be excited about this, many are frustrated over the creative liberties that Square Enix decided to make for the character, such as his baldness.

Many Twitter users took to the comments venting their frustration towards Square Enix for constantly ignoring fan's criticisms about bald Hawkeye and not giving him the same hairstyle from the movie or from other more preferable skins. Not only that, but some have expressed annoyance that there isn't an option to at least customize the different looks and skins, stating that this should be an extremely easy feature to implement for a game from 2020 that reuses assets.

Other fans have taken a stance to defend Square Enix, saying that there could possibly be a legal reason why they can't use the full likeness of Jeremy Renner's character in the MCU. The argument here also being that these skins are only supposed to be inspired by the movie counterparts and not carbon copies. If fans do not like the look of these skins, then they don't have to purchase them.

At the end of the day, it is a matter of preference. Some are thankful that the hairstyle is not the same as the movie because they think that it looks worse; some want the more edgy mohawk look. One user does bring up the point that it isn't a matter of taste but principle. If fans keep letting companies ignore them and make low effort and uninspired content for $15, they argue, then companies will never listen to fans as long as it makes a profit. In the end, it is hard for Square Enix to please everyone, but hopefully it will be able to do so with future updates.

Marvel's Avengers is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
