Marvel's Avengers' consistent skin updates continue to populate the game's Marketplace, primarily with recent skins sharing inspiration from character iterations based upon the massively popular Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Despite Marvel's Avengers' controversial microtransaction pursuits, players continue to share their admiration for the newest skins. Through films such as Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, many inspired skins have been added that have been fan-requested since Marvel's Avengers' launch. Recently, Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix have shared the latest in Marvel's Avengers' gradual rollout of MCU-inspired skins.

It has been announced that the Suitcase Armor from the MCU's Iron Man 2 will be added to Marvel's Avengers. While participating in the Monaco Historic Grand Prix, Tony Stark along with Happy Hogan and Pepper Potts are attacked by Ivan Vanko's Whiplash. In order to save Happy and Pepper, it is revealed that Stark's robust, red suitcase is a portable suit of armor. But instead of the traditional red-and-gold armor, the suitcase mechanism unfurls along Stark's body and encases him in a distinct red-and-white model, designated as Mark V.

Many players appear excited to have this skin added to Marvel's Avengers' catalog. However, because players are still unhappy with Marvel's Avengers' recent developments, the consensus from fans is that this is a sour time to announce more purchasable items. Further, Marvel's Avengers is currently in hot water with its community of players, particularly due to the recent pay-to-win structure that Square Enix has enabled and the focus it has on Marketplace economics, such as microtransactions for these cosmetic skins.

Of course, optional skins do not contribute to in-game progression or other pay-to-win ambitions, but the announcement of skins upsets some fans nonetheless because a paywall is included. Rather, some players argue that skin costs are a result of Marvel's Avengers' free downloadable-content that provide new campaigns and characters. Some fans are satisfied with the game's current condition and have simply waited for more skins to become available in the Marketplace to meet their stylish, cosmetic desires for each character.

While it only appears briefly in Iron Man 2, the Suitcase Armor is one of Stark's more unique suits from his solo films in the MCU and makes a welcome addition to the MCU-inspired suits that players can don as Iron Man in Marvel's Avengers on October 28.

Marvel's Avengers is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
