There's only a little over a week left until Marvel's Avengers arrives on various gaming platforms. In preparation for the upcoming release, Crystal Dynamics has released the game's official launch trailer. Funny enough, however, the studio did so through PlayStation's YouTube channel rather than through Marvel Entertainment's, which is usually where Marvel's Avengers showcase videos get uploaded.

The trailer likely ended up where it did because PlayStation's Marvel's Avengers will offer players more content than the PC, Stadia, and Xbox versions. It will have timed-exclusives in the form of skins and activities. Spider-Man will also be an exclusive character, and won't release at all on the other available platforms, something the launch trailer makes sure to highlight towards its end.

As expected, the trailer features already revealed content and information. Fans will recognize gameplay from both the Marvel's Avengers War Table Livestream and the A-day Prologue Showcase. The trailer also emphasizes Kamala Khan as the game's main character — for the first story arc anyway.

Players will be able to choose from six different Marvel's Avengers characters when the game launches. These will include Kamala Khan — of course — Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Thor, and the Hulk, all of whom the trailer features. Hawkeye will arrive as the game's first post-launch hero, though it remains undisclosed exactly when he'll release.

Marvel's Avengers' Spider-Man release date will happen much later. Exactly when remains a mystery, but Crystal Dynamics has set the timetable for somewhere in Spring 2021. When Spider-Man does arrive, he'll come with his very own unique line of missions. However, Crystal Dynamics claims that these missions will only provide his viewpoint of the main storyline, so Xbox, Stadia, and PC players won't miss out on any content they aren't familiar with.

Sadly, the trailer doesn't give a timetable for the Marvel's Avengers PS5 and Xbox Series X release dates. The game is confirmed to be in development for these next-generation consoles, but no other information has been made available beyond that. The launch trailer only reminds us that the Marvel's Avengers release date for PS4, Xbox One, Stadia, and PC happens on September 4.

This trailer will likely be the last update provided for the game until it releases. There's not much time left before September 4 arrives, and Crystal Dynamics will probably use most of it updating the game with Marvel's Avengers beta feedback. With that in mind, we'll likely have to wait until then to learn more about the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions, which makes sense considering only the Xbox has a confirmed release month.

Marvel's Avengers releases September 4 on PS4, Stadia, PC, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X versions are in development.
