Marvel's Avengers was treated to a patch today, but not one fans of the game expected. Developer Crystal Dynamics recently outlined some next-gen features for Marvel's Avengers on Ps5 and Xbox Series X, and players were expecting some more good news with a patch update. However, shortly after the announcement of Patch 1.4.3, fans took to Twitter to express their frustration with the small patch and ask why some of the more pressing gameplay and DLC issues in Marvel's Avengers were not addressed instead.

Marvel's Avengers fans have the Clint Barton Hawkeye DLC to look forward to on March 18, the same time the game launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X, but little else. A DLC roadmap for the game only exists in fan theories and leaks at this point, with no official word from Crystal Dynamics as to what the future holds for Marvel's Avengers. Besides DLC, players have been asking about fixes to in-game matchmaking, collectibles, and skins. When Patch 1.4.3 revealed a list of exactly two updates, fans were sufficiently confused and frustrated.

The two fixes in Patch 1.4.3 address a bug with Iron Man's missile attack and an "unintended sound effect." Iron Man's missile attack will now trigger the battery status once again and the mysterious unintended sound effect will no longer activate during "some moves." For fans of Iron Man in Marvel's Avengers this might very well be an effective patch, but the patch concerning the sound effect is remarkably vague. Whether the sound effect triggers as a result of certain playable character moves in the game or NPC actions is unclear and likely won't be expanded upon.

Following the tweet from the PlayAvengers Twitter account, fans were quick to respond with fixes they felt were more important than the two listed in the patch. A popular request was to increase The Incredible Hulk's mobility to mimic another game, LEGO Marvel's Avengers, where Hulk can jump farther and faster. Crossplay was also mentioned, as well as more humorous Hulk-related requests like fixing his buzzcut.

Other fans of Marvel's Avengers did not weigh in with fixes but instead made comparisons to other games to voice their frustrations. One fan claimed the Outriders demo was killing the success of Marvel's Avengers, while another worried that Marvel's Avengers might simply cease to exist like the canceled Anthem 2.0.

Though a few of these frustrations are probably unfounded, fan reaction to Patch 1.4.3 does underscore the exasperation many Marvel's Avengers fans feel right now as they wait for Crystal Dynamics to pick up the pace on updates for the game.

Marvel's Avengers is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions coming March 18.
