During Square Enix's E3 presentation, the publisher revealed its long-rumored Guardians of the Galaxy video game, confirming it will be an RPG following the cast of eccentric galaxy-trotting misfits. The game is Square's second dive into the Marvel universe, with Marvel's Avengers launching last year to mixed reviews.

It seems Square is looking to celebrate the announcement of its newest superhero tie-in by giving fans of its previous release a freebie to commemorate the occasion, revealing today that Marvel's Avengers players can claim a Guardians of the Galaxy nameplate. The offer will last until July 1, so those wanting to sport Star-Lord, Rocket, Groot, Gamora, and Drax on their profile should hop into the game soon.

For those wondering how they secure the item, all one has to do is head over to the Marvel's Avengers in-game store and claim it. They'll then be able to assign the nameplate to their profile in the cosmetics menu.

For those who didn't catch the reveal earlier this month, Guardians of the Galaxy will launch this October on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Unlike Marvel's Avengers, it will be entirely single-player, seeing players step into the boots of Star-Lord as he attempts to keep the Guardians together and explore the galaxy.

An early look at the game showed off one of its missions in action, revealing it will come loaded with the franchise's distinct sense of humor and action-heavy set pieces. It seems Guardians of the Galaxy will even feature story-altering decisions, with one section of the footage showing Star-Lord decide whether to use Groot or Rocket as bait for a monster collector known as Lady Hellbender.

As for Marvel's Avengers, it's set to have a relatively active 2021, launching its War of Wakanda expansion in August. The add-on will bring Black Panther to the game as a playable hero, offering a brand-new set of missions that will see him clash with his nemesis Klaw. The expansion's cinematic trailer reveals the villain is after vibranium, and it appears the Avengers will have to join forces with T'Challa to prevent him from acquiring it.

Meanwhile, the game is slated to get a series of other long-requested additions in the coming months, including more MCU-inspired outfits, new warzones, and fresh assignments. In the meantime, players can dive into the Cosmic Cube villain event, where they'll go head to head with returning villain Monica Rappaccini.

Marvel's Avengers is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
