Marvel's Avengers Gameplay Includes 4-Player Co-Op, Hero Customization, and More

E3 2019: All Press Conferences, Dates, Times

Since its initial announcement a couple of years ago, we've heard next to nothing about Marvel's Avengers from Square Enix. However, that's looking to change very soon, as we know that Marvel's Avengers will be at E3 2019. And now we know what fans can expect to see from the game at the show, thanks to an updated E3 Coliseum description for it as spotted by Twitter user Evan Filarca.

Here is the full E3 Coliseum description for Marvel's Avengers:

"Embrace your powers and join key members of the development team at Crystal Dynamics and the creative team at Marvel Games as they talk exclusively about the upcoming Marvel’s Avengers. This is the defining Avengers gaming experience: an epic action-adventure that combines cinematic storytelling with continuous single-player and co-operative gameplay. Moderated by Andrea Rene, assemble in teams up to four players, master extraordinary abilities, customize your heroes to fit your playstyle, and combine powers to defend an ever-expanding world under constant threat."

What's interesting about this description is that it seems to suggest Marvel's Avengers will be a live-service type of game, with a persistent online world. It also reveals that the game will support both those who choose to play solo, and those who want to team up with friends online. Marvel's Avengers will apparently support 4-player co-op with the ability to combine powers, and it will also allow players to customize their heroes.

Based on the description, it sounds like Marvel's Avengers will be a game not unlike Destiny or The Division, but with superheroes. Whether or not the Marvel's Avengers gameplay has cover-shooting and stealth sections like previous leaks have suggested remains to be seen, however.

With the Marvel's Avengers E3 Coliseum panel apparently taking a deep dive into the gameplay, it seems like a safe bet that fans will get a substantial look at the game come E3 2019 in June. Based on the leaks so far, this should include gameplay footage as well as cinematics, but fans will just have to tune in to the Square Enix E3 2019 press conference on June 10 at 6:00pm PT to find out more.

Marvel's Avengers is in development for unspecified platforms.
