It appears that two new playable heroes have leaked from the upcoming Marvel's Avengers game by way of an unexpected source. A recently announced LEGO set has some ties to the plot of the upcoming game that hints at the inclusion of two new possible heroes following the launch of the game in May 2020.

Developer Crystal Dynamics and publisher Square Enix have confirmed there will only be 6 playable characters for the launch of Marvel's Avengers: Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Ms. Marvel, and Hulk. Earlier this year, it was confirmed that there would be more than those six, but they won't be released until after the release as post-game content. Square Enix has said it will not charge players for these additional characters.

Two LEGO sets, Avengers Speeder Bike Attack and Avengers Truck Take-down, are set to launch soon and feature two superheroes that have not yet been rumored for the Marvel's Avengers game. Black Panther and Hawkeye appear in these LEGOs and are two of the most iconic and recognizable heroes in the Marvel universe, behind the heroes already included in the game. So why does this suggest they will be added to the game?

Marvel's avengers no local co-op

First off, neither are linked to their movies or upcoming TV shows and the release date of January 1, which may be a placeholder, doesn't line with the Disney+ Hawkeye show or the Black Panther sequel. Both of these are set for 2021. The biggest link between these LEGO sets and the upcoming game is the villain. AIM, Advanced Idea Mechanics, is the organization who are the main antagonist in the Marvel's Avengers and they also happen to be the villain of this upcoming LEGO set. It could very well be a coincidence, but for one of the biggest brands in the world right now it is doubtful.

Black Panther and Hawkeye are nowhere near confirmed for Marvel's Avengers, but they would be logical choices given how popular they have become through the MCU films. These characters will surely be in the game one day, but other popular characters like Ant Man and Captain Marvel may be added as DLC before Black Panther or Hawkeye. And whether or not Spider-Man will come to the game, and be a PlayStation exclusive, is still up in the air.

Marvel's Avengers releases May 15, 2020 on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
