Marvel's Avengers has already taken the world by storm as players are having a blast playing as different superheroes in an action-packed RPG brawler. Upgrades are a crucial part of the game as it helps the player tailor their experience. The best example of this is through evolving the skillsets of each individual hero.

Players can unlock skills for each hero based on that character's Hero Level. There are three categories that each have four skill trees to branch out in. Each hero has different skill trees because of the different combat styles between each character. While players can tailor their experience however they'd like, some skills are better than others.

10 Energy Lance (Iron Man)

Most of the best skills in the game are further upgrades of abilities players needed to unlock. For example, one of Iron Man's best skills is the Energy Lance ability. Iron Man by default is able to shoot rockets, but players can add more to the hero by adding Laser Beam. This skill allows the player to shoot a long laser at enemies in a way that makes it easy to aim. Energy Lance adds an additional layer where players will be able to pierce with an enemy's defenses a lot easier compared to just the regular laser beam.

9 Whirling Wallop (Ms. Marvel)

Ms. Marvel has tons of excellent melee abilities that can be used in almost any situation. One of the more productive skills players can unlock is the Whirling Wallop. This unleashes one quick punch on an enemy and then, while vulnerable, unloads multiple upper-cuts before they come crashing to the ground. This knocks out nearly any opponent temporarily, allowing the player to unleash more powerful attacks. Whirling Wallop is the perfect way to end an enemy's attempt to attack the player.

8 Power Spike (The Hulk)

The Hulk is a character known for smashing, so it is isn't surprising to see his skillset focus on that innate ability. There are a lot of different ways to smash, though. One of the craziest ways is through Power Spike. Players can only unlock the ability after reaching Hero Level 4.

While fighting a group of enemies in close range, players can grab an enemy and slam them into the ground. This not only does damage to the grabbed enemy, but it also causes any nearby enemies to be launched by the ripple effect.

7 Madipoor Special (Black Widow)

Black Widow fighting Taskmaster

Black Widow is unlike some of the other heroes where she is unable to get around while flying. Luckily, she is a great sprinter. Some skills can take advantage of this ability, with one of the best being the Madipoor Special. While sprinting, Black Widow would be able to unleash a brutal kicking attack that would kick an enemy so hard that they would be sent flying. The ability is good to stop any potential attacks from escalating and to get a chance to recuperate.

6 Commander's Parry (Captain America)

Captain America from Marvel's Avengers

Captain America's shield can be seen as a defensive device, but it can also be used as a weapon. The Commander's Parry allows players to used shield block to stop an incoming attack by performing a countermove, using a shield bash. This will stun the enemy and then lead into a spinning shield strike. The best part about using the ability is that, when timed right, could give Captain America the Captain's Charge buff, which would give his next attack a 10 percent increase in damage.

5 Smackdown (The Hulk)

The Hulk's grab moves are just endlessly fun, and Smackdown is one of the more ferocious ones. Needing a Hero Level of 10 to even unlock it, Smackdown allows players to turn multiple enemies into dual weapons. The Hulk can grab one enemy then hold down the grab button to pick up another. Then, players can unleash an unreal amount of powerful combos. They can use the enemies as melee weapons or just repeatedly hit the enemies on the ground over and over until The Hulk needs to let go. It's barbaric but it's also fun.

4 Full-Auto Shot (Black Widow)

Black Widow from Marvel's Avengers

Black Widow has a gun and she isn't afraid to use it. The gun can be frustrating to use at times as players need to press the trigger each time to shoot bullets. Full-Auto Shot makes the gun-wielding experience a little more bearable.

First, players will need to unlock Bullet Storm in order for this to work. Then, with the Full-Auto Shot activated, players can simply hold down the shooting button to unleash bullets at an endlessly high rate. The only downside is that it becomes less accurate the longer the button is held down.

3 Muon Shotgun (Iron Man)

Iron Man from Marvel's Avengers

Iron Man's Shotgun is powerful but it's hard to use while he is on the move. The Muon Shotgun ability changes that. While hovering around, the Iron Man-equivalent of sprinting, the skill allows players to automatically target an enemy and fire a dual Repulsor shot while in motion. The shot will send an enemy flying a bit and can allow players to unleash even more attacks on them, creating a situation where players can rack up the amount of damage dealt. In other words, if players like combos, this is a good way to start things off.

2 Immovable Intent (Thor)

Thor from Marvel's Avengers

Thor's hammer is obviously an important tool when playing as the hero. There is an entire skill tree section that is dedicated to improving the player's use of the weapon. One of the most helpful upgrades players can give the hammer is by unlocking Immovable Intent. First, players will need to unlock Tornado Throw in order to access this ability. With Immovable Intent, Thor is able to throw his hammer at up to two enemies and pin them against a wall. This stops them from being able to attack and leaves them temporarily vulnerable to Thor and other heroes.

1 Harpoon (Ms. Marvel)

If players enjoyed using enemies with The Hulk's Smackdown move, wait until they try Ms. Marvel's Harpoon ability. With this ability unlocked, players can have fun swinging enemies around using Ms. Marvel's long arms, which is why it's considered a ranged attack. While performing Whip Fist, players can hold down the button to grab an enemy. Players can then move the enemy around and throw them into other opponents in the area. Larger enemies that can't be grabbed can be pushed around using this ability.
