Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is the game that every comic book nerd and gamer alike are talking about, and that comes as no surprise considering that it pits favorites from the Marvel universe against the likes of Capcom’s Ryu, Chris Redfield, and Dante.
It was recently revealed that both Capcom’s Viewtiful Joe and Marvel’s Dormammu will be joining the fray, but what hype could Capcom possibly expect to build for these characters without releasing some brand new trailers featuring the duo in intense combat? Low and behold Capcom has heard our prayers and has officially released some gameplay footage of these combatants as well as the rest of the previously confirmed fighters.
Viewtiful Joe appears to be fast and stylish:
Next up we have Dormammu in all of his wretched glory:
Last but certainly not least is an entirely new trailer that shows off all of the currently revealed Marvel vs. Capcom 3:
After watching that last trailer it would appear that Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will actually have story elements and cutscenes. This would mark the first time in MvC history that the series has actually had some sort of plot line that explains why the characters are suddenly fighting each other. Even if this is the case I really doubt that the plots will be deep, but that’s what we’ve all come to expect from fighting games. Although it would be cool to hear some actual dialogue or cutscenes between Deadpool and Viewtiful Joe that doesn’t involve the generic taunts at the beginning of and after the match.
Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds is due to hit retailers sometime during Spring next year for Xbox 360 and PS3. Sorry Wii owners no Marvel vs. Capcom fun for you, although, you guys do always have Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.
What do you guys think about the new MvC 3 trailers? What characters would you like to see make the cut and show up in the final roster?
