This past December, Capcom pulled the curtain back on Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, the latest entry in the long-running Capcom and Marvel crossover fighting game series. However, the company has been mostly silent about Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite since then, leaving fans to speculate about the characters that may possibly make their way to the game. Well, NeoGAF user Rikurikumore may have spilled the beans on at least a few characters early, assuming their information is accurate.

NeoGAF user Rikurikumore took to the forum to make some bold claims about the Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite roster, confirming two characters specifically, along with a faction. According to Rikurikumore, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will include Frank West from the Dead Rising series as well as Dante, the demon hunter from Devil May Cry. On the Marvel side of things, Rikurikumore claimed that members of the X-Men group will be making an appearance.

While Frank West and Dante being on the roster seems obvious, the inclusion of X-Men characters was never a guarantee. In recent years, Marvel has noticeably put less focus on its X-Men comics, with the prevailing theory being that it wants to give more attention to characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and doesn’t want to potentially boost the ticket sales of the companies that currently have the licensing rights to its characters. Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite‘s MCU slant was apparent right out of the gate, as the first Marvel two characters revealed were Iron Man and Captain Marvel.

Besides leaking more members of the Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite roster, Rikurikumore also shed some light on Capcom’s other plans for the game. Namely, the NeoGAF user claims that fans won’t see Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite‘s 2v2 team battles in action again until E3 2017, and that the X-Men characters may not be shown until EVO or the San Diego Comic Con.

All of this is interesting information for anyone anticipating Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, but can Rikurikumore be trusted? We always recommend to take leaks with a grain of salt until someone involved confirms or denies them, but it’s worth noting that NeoGAF user SaikyoBro, who is apparently known for having insider knowledge of Capcom, has backed up this particular leak from Rikurikumore.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is slated for release later this year, so we shouldn’t have to wait long to find out if this leak is legitimate. If the bit about Capcom showing the game at E3 is true, then fans should only have to wait a couple more months to see what other characters will be joining Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Mega Man X, Ryu, Captain America, and Morrigan on the roster.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is in development for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
