And the announcements just keep coming from Capcom for their upcoming Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds fighter. It seems with every major convention or games show, Capcom has another set of playable characters to unveil to the delight of fans everywhere. New York Comic Con is well under way, and it's no exception. Having already announced X-23 and Tron Bonne at Tokyo Game Show, the good folks at Capcom have clearly been busy with their next two, and will likely please a great number of fans with an old favorite.

Without further ado, the next two playable characters announced for the ever-growing roster of MvC 3 on the Capcom side are Sir Arthur, hero of the classic Ghosts 'n Goblins and Nathan Spencer, protagonist of Bionic Commando. To go along with the announcement, Capcom has released a few screenshots detailing how close they've kept Arthur to his side-scroller roots, and gameplay videos demonstrating how effective these two can be in combat.

Is it just me, or is it hard to even look at these screenshots without imagining Spencer screaming "Get Over Here!" To give a better idea of how damaging a man in heart-print boxers can be with a sword and spells, Capcom has released some gameplay trailers for your viewing pleasure. It goes without saying that many of you will be pleased, but with how many characters there are to draw on, it might be more likely that many of you will be disappointed. But, that seems to be the case with nearly every edition of Marvel vs. Capcom, so it may just be par for the course. Nevertheless, prepare yourselves:

Not to be left out, Marvel has decided to unveil two more fighters in their corner: Magneto and MODOK. It has officially been brought.

So there you have it, four more fighters unveiled. I'll be honest, fighting games aren't particularly my strong suit: I'm far more used to being the "other fighter" in those videos above. You know, the one being humiliated in front of his friends, family, and fellow fighters. So perhaps that makes it an even greater accomplishment of Capcom that I, a non-fighting gamer, have had my interest peaked by these two characters.

I know that Arthur has appeared in several previous titles, but it's something about his jump that's got me reminiscing. That is a carbon copy of the little knight I recall taking on skeletons and ghouls, and the fact he's included is a plus in my books.

Spencer is an interesting addition, since having a gas-propelled claw for an arm would most likely impact one's fighting prowess. There is one rule I live by: if your character reminds me of an original fighter in Mortal Kombat, I will respect you and your game. I've already been pleasantly surprised by MvC3 as they've released more and more of my favorite characters like Viewtiful Joe and Deadpool. Perhaps it's the history that each of these characters has that makes Capcom so confident they'll outperfrom Street Fighter IV.

And I loves me some comic books, so you know how I feel about Marvel's additions. Feel free to let me know how wrong I am in the comments. Either way, I'm looking forward to this game a little more than I was yesterday. Hopefully they've saved the best for last.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds is set for release on the Xbox 360 and PS3 in Spring 2011.
