As many Marvel vs. Capcom fans know, there is a slight difference in roster size from Marvel vs. Capcom 2 to Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. The second series installment came loaded with a massive roster of 56 playable characters, while Marvel vs Capcom 3 tops off at a character count of 38 (including the two downloadable MvC3 characters).

For those bad at math, that's an 18 count difference in characters. While this may be due to the fact that the previous two titles in the series consisted of 2D character sprites instead of 3D rendered models, this still comes as a disappointment to many fans. We here at Game Rant have decided to list a few characters that we believe would be cool additions to Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

We've selected 10 characters, five from Marvel and five from Capcom, who we feel are missing in the game. Perhaps they'll be available down the line as overpriced DLC. Take a look:

Capcom

Megaman

Megaman - characters we wish were in Marvel vs Capcom 3

We know that the game already has Zero to represent the franshise, but damn, the series itself is named after this guy. Besides Street Fighter, the second face that comes to mind when thinking of key Capcom characters is Megaman. He was good enough to make to the first two games, why not the third? Capcom believes he offers nothing unique. We disagree.

Blanka (Street Fighter)

Blanka - characters we wish were in Marvel vs Capcom 3

Anyone who has played any of the Street Fighter games will remember how annoying it was to face Blanka, especially when he electrifies his whole body, forcing you to learn some technique or just how to launch a fireball. We think it would be cool if that same playable annoyance appeared in MvC3.

---

Vergil (Devil May Cry)

Vergil - characters we wish were in Marvel vs Capcom 3

The more calm, collected (and more sadistic) older brother of Dante, who despises humans. Vergil's fighting style is more strict and refined than his Devil May Cry counterpart. On the bright side, he is less "smart assy" than his younger brother. If you haven't guessed it yet, he is everything that Dante isn't and would make for a great addition to Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

---

Monster Hunter

Monster Hunter - characters we wish were in Marvel vs Capcom 3

The characters in the Monster Hunter franchise hunt and kill monsters, turning their flesh and bones into armor and weapons, just so that they can repeat the process. I'm pretty sure that any of the Monster Hunter warriors will be able to handle themselves against the other combatants in MvC3.

Chucke Green (Dead Rising 2)

Chuck Greene - characters we wish were in Marvel vs Capcom 3

Others may prefer Frank West but Mr. Greene is a Motocross Champion and a handy man of death. His MacGyver-esque skills are how he combats the zombie invasion and that makes him a little more worthy than West (a photographer) at earning a spot in the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 roster. Any man that can take on a horde of zombies by himself and survive, should be able to join any fighting arena that he wants to. Do you not see the double chainsaw paddle in his hand?

Marvel

Professor X

Professor C - characters we wish were in Marvel vs Capcom 3

Do not let the wheelchair fool you; Anyone who has read the comics knows that Professor X is more than capable of handling himself in a fight. He his known as one of the most powerful telepaths in the Marvel universe who also has a wee bit of telekinetic skills. Who doesn't want to see Professor x and Magneto go at it on their console? Personally, I would fear any man who could kill me just by thinking about it.

---

Daredevil

Daredevil - characters we wish were in Marvel vs Capcom 3

Great friend of Spidey and acting defense attorney to some of the other Marvel characters. Daredevil doesn't need the use of his eyes to know where to hand out an ass-kicking. Daredevil is a staple Marvel character who would be great at serving up some blind justice in MvC3.

---

Luke Cage

Luke Cage - characters we wish were in Marvel vs Capcom 3

No cape, No tights, No mask. Luke Cage represents raw super human strength without the flashy outfits. Cage originally started out as a Marvel's attempt to dive into the 70s blaxploitation trend, but soon he became a serious character, dropping the afro and bright yellow disco shirt. In his youth, Cage was a gang member who served time in prison, before adopting the name "Luke Cage" and becoming a Hero for Hire. He's got as strong moral compass, and despite continuous run-ins with the law (always falsely accused it seems), he's one of the toughest men you'd want on your team.

---

Venom (Eddie Brock)

Venom - characters we wish were in Marvel vs Capcom 3

Granted, the black alien symbiote has had many different host over the years, but true Spidey fans will always acknowledge Eddie Brock as the true Venom. Having venom in the game would just make since. Spidey without a Venom is like a Batman without a Joker. A simple alternative outfit for Spider-Man just wont due, we need the true anger-driven Eddie Brock/Venom.

---

Dr. Strange

Doctor Strange - characters we wish were in Marvel vs Capcom 3

Doctor Strange holds the title of  "Sorcerer Supreme" in the Marvel universe. He has a plethora of powers including teleportation, regeneration, telepathy and the ability to launch energy blasts - Those were to just name a few. Even before he became a god-like magician, he was a brilliant neurosurgeon. Doctor Strange would easily act as a great addition to the game to put Dormammu in his place.

On the Marvel side, we can go on and on and on with a library of over 5000 characters in the Marvel Comics library. Special mentions to characters including Cyclops, Cable, Iron Fist, Gambit, Black Panther, the Fantastic Four and more who didn't make the cut.

So there you have it. Just a few characters who we believe would make great additions to the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 roster. As we all know, the people at Capcom are professionals at feeding out DLC for their top games, maybe we can see at-least one of these character come to fruition in the game at a later date  or even in Marvel vs. Capcom 4. But for now, all we can do is hope and enjoy the "awesomeness" that we already have.
