Two new Marvel vs. Capcom 3 characters have been revealed, She-Hulk and Zero. Gameplay videos for each have also been released. She-Hulk will be making her first appearance as a playable character in the world of Capcom fighting games. She was seen as a non-playable character in Capcom's mid-90's fighter Marvel Super Heroes. Zero was playable in the Wii-exclusive Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. Based on the gameplay video released for each, Zero appears to be similar to the version in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, while She-Hulk looks fast and brutal in close combat.

Capcom has not shied away from the fact that they expect big things from Marvel vs. Capcom 3, stating they expect it to outsell Street Fighter 4, while predicting it will sell around 2 million units. Street Fighter 4 was a pretty successful game, praised by critics and fans alike. It is also regarded by many as the reason why fighting games have seen a revival today, perhaps even as the reason for Marvel vs. Capcom 3's release. While Marvel remains a hot property and upcoming movies like Thor and Captain America will certainly help bring attention to the game and those playable characters, whether the game has that much more of broad appeal than Street Fighter is not a sure thing.
Certainly people might be more aware of Marvel characters than Street Fighter characters, but the Capcom VS. fighting games are not for the lighthearted. Success in the game requires quick hands and an understanding of the robust combo and juggling systems. Competitive play will require an even deeper understanding and knowledge of which characters are the best, or "top tier," and which are underpowered. Capcom, however, seems to be aware of the complicated nature found in its fighting games and is at least trying to make Marvel vs. Capcom 3 more accessible, as it uses a simplified three-button control scheme versus Marvel vs. Cacpom 2's four attack buttons.
