Rumor Patrol: 'Marvel vs. Capcom 3' Comic-Book Confirms Galactus and Taskmaster

Galactus and Taskmaster confirmed comic MvC3

Scans of pages of the alleged upcoming Marvel vs. Capcom comic have hit the internet, originally coming from artist Kevin Sharpe's portfolio. While the art was taken down from the source site, the images have already been preserved on the vastness that is the internet. The images are particularly interesting as they all but confirm the inclusion of Galactus and Taskmaster in Marvel vs. Capcom 3. The news of their inclusion is not that surprising, however, considering the recent leaks via Twitter of the remaining Marvel vs. Capcom 3 characters that listed both characters as included in the game. The Twitter leaks also said Galactus is the game's final boss.

While their inclusion in the game cannot be seen as official at this point, it does seem like both will be included. These leaked comic pages also lend further credibility to the other characters mentioned in the Twitter leaks as being in the game, including Phoenix, Sentinel, Hsien-Ko, Haggar, and Akuma. Take a look at the pages and see for yourself.

Galactus as a final boss seems pretty sweet and really makes a lot of sense in terms of possible stories too. The character does travel from galaxy to galaxy and basically swallows and destroys them, so to think he might have stumbled across a galaxy with Marvel characters and a galaxy with Capcom characters and somehow brought the two worlds together could work from a fiction standpoint.

It would also make sense to the see the heroes of both worlds band together to try to stop his plans. Taskmaster might be seen as a littler lesser-known character, but could be a lot of fun to play. For those who might know much about him, he has the ability to mimic the physical movements of anyone he sees. It is not too hard to image him as a fun playable character, depending on how they handle his ability.

What are your thoughts? Do you like Galactus as the final boss? Are you excited about the inclusion of Taskmaster? Do you think these leaked comic pages further confirm the Twitter leaks? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is set to release on PS3 and Xbox 360 February 11, 2011.
