Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order released as a Nintendo Switch exclusive game earlier this summer, but it's still receiving support on a consistent basis in the form of updates and DLC expansions. The latest expansion for the game, the Rise of Phoenix DLC, added a lot more X-Men content to the proceedings, having released just recently on December 23. However, December 23 also saw the release of brand new costumes added to Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, added to the game for free.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3's new costumes are for the various X-Men characters in the game, including Cyclops, Colossus, Psylocke, Nightcrawler, Storm, Magneto, and of course, Wolverine. Some of the more notable costumes include the Astonishing X-Men Cyclops, Age of Apocalypse Colossus, and House of M versions of Psylocke and Nightcrawler. Wolverine's Old Man Logan skin is likely the one that will be of most interest to fans, however.

The Old Man Logan character has risen in popularity in recent years, partly thanks to the 2017 film Logan, which was inspired by the comic book story. Considering this, it makes a lot of sense for Team Ninja to try to lure fans back to Ultimate Alliance 3 by giving them the chance to play as Old Man Logan in video game form.

The Rise of Phoenix expansion and the new free costumes is just the latest that has been added to Ultimate Alliance 3. Previously, the Marvel Knights expansion gave fans of the game a few new characters to try, including well-known characters like Blade and The Punisher.

Looking ahead, there's even more new content for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 fans to look forward to. The next paid expansion for the game will be all about the Fantastic Four, which is fitting since the film rights to Marvel's First Family is now back in the hands of Disney. Adding the Fantastic Four to Ultimate Alliance 3 should be a great way for fans to get reacquainted with the characters before they make their inevitable Marvel Cinematic Universe debut at some point in the future.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3's Fantastic Four DLC isn't coming until 2020, so fans will have to play through the Rise of Phoenix expansion in the meantime.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
