After a very exciting Comic-Con panel yesterday that included a surprise announcement about Loki, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is available today for Switch owners. The Switch exclusive title is ideal for co-op gameplay and, just like in previous franchise installments, players can unlock alternate costumes to make their main heroes look even cooler.

Alternate costumes are a staple of the Marvel Ultimate Alliance franchise and even the X-Men Legends series that came earlier. Unlocking extra costumes for each hero isn't particularly difficult, but it does require a bit of time and effort. Don't worry though, we can explain exactly what players need to do to expand their wardrobe.

The unlock extra costumes, players need to participate in Infinity Trials. The Trials can be accessed either from the main menu or the shield menu if you're already in a story chapter. Upon arriving at the Infinity Trials menu, players will see tons of character portraits. Select the character you want to unlock additional costumes for and get ready for a challenge.

Infinity Trials have a star ranking system (up to three) and each star earns equals one alternate suit/costume. Players just need to master the trials and get three stars with every character in order to acquire all of the alternate costumes that are available this way.

Don't forget that there will be even more characters on the way, both free and paid, when we get a little closer to the release of the Expansion Pass content. Just keep in mind that Expansion Pass content is all or nothing, so players will need to drop about $20 to unlock the Fantastic Four, X-Men, and Marvel Knights additions.

Be sure to check back in the coming hours for more Ultimate Alliance 3 guides, news, and updates as we continue to tear through the new game. Until then, good luck out there, True Believers...
