Very soon, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 will be getting its first two DLC characters added to the game as part of a free update. That's not all of the free goodies players have to look forward to, though. The update will also come with three new costumes as well, including Spidey's Symbiote Suit.

Spider-Man will be back in black on August 30th as part of a free update that adds the Symbiote Suit for Spider-Man, a Planet Hulk costume for Hulk, and Ms. Marvel's classic black costume. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 released a little over a month ago, bringing back the series from a decade hiatus. This free update is the first set of DLC scheduled for the game that will also add two new characters, Colossus and Cyclops, two prominent X-Men members who have been playable in past Ultimate Alliance titles.

The next set of content after this has already been announced but will come at a price. The first expansion, known as Marvel Knights: The Curse of the Vampire, will introduce four new playable characters. On September 30, Blade, Moon Knight, the Punisher, and Morbius the Living Vampire will be added to the game, as will a new co-op mode called Gauntlet. There are at least two more paid expansions in the works and will include content from the X-Men and Fantastic Four, but no release window has been disclosed at this time. The Expansion Pass, which includes all three expansions, is available for $19.99 on the Nintendo eShop.

All of the upcoming content, both free and paid, should keep the game interesting for a while. New characters are always fun to engage with and new gaming modes will give players more to do. For some, new content and updates aren't just wanted but needed to make the game more enjoyable. Reviews for the game varied from outlet to outlet, but none were exactly glowing. Our review of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 rated it as an alright experience, but there were certain glaring issues that held it back from being a great game.
