Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is filled with nods to the greater Marvel universe. But the references in the game extend beyond just the comic books that it's based on. In fact, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order has easter eggs referencing the movies and TV shows, including at least one nod to the Daredevil Netflix TV series.

When Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 players reach Chapter 3: Shadowland, they will have to face off against the Hand ninja clan, who are being paid off by Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin. Eventually, they come across Daredevil himself, who helps them fight and then joins the group as one of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3's playable characters.

As players explore the Shadowland level with Daredevil, they eventually reach a dark hallway section where they have to keep fighting leagues of Hand ninjas. It's during this sequence that Daredevil says that he does some of his best fighting in hallways, a direct reference to one of the most famous action scenes from the Netflix series.

It's likely that there are many other easter eggs hiding in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3's levels. However, it's somewhat surprising that the game references the Netflix shows. After all, Netflix has canceled its Marvel TV shows, despite Marvel itself apparently wanting all of the series to continue with additional seasons. There has been talk of bringing the Marvel shows back on Hulu or even the Disney+ streaming service, but nothing official has been announced at the time of this writing.

Meanwhile, fans of the Daredevil TV show will have to do some extra legwork if they hope to add all of the major characters from the show. Elektra has to be unlocked by completing the Infinity Trials, and The Punisher is only available as one of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3's DLC characters.

In the future, it's possible that more characters featured in the Netflix TV shows are made playable characters in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. For example, Jessica Jones appears as a non-playable character, but perhaps she could one day be made a playable character in the game as well. Fans will just have to stay tuned to find out more.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
