While Marvel's Avengers allows players to take on the role of several of earth's mightiest heroes, there is a limit to how long the story and side missions last. Once the game has been finished, players might want to get some more superhero content. Sometimes the best way to go for that kind of content is offline by grabbing a tabletop game adaptation.

The good news is that, before there was Marvel's Avengers, there were all kinds of different tabletop adaptations of the biggest comic book heroes on the planet. The one issue there is that there are plenty of Avengers tabletop games that aren't exactly up to snuff. However, there are several options that every board game aficionado should give a try, at least once.

Marvel Heroes: The Marvel Universe Strategy Board Game

When looking to take on the role of a hero, in the same way that Marvel's Avengers allows players to take on different roles, then Marvel Heroes will scratch that itch. In fact, this game actually has every player take on the role of one do-gooder and one villain. Whether it's the Kingpin of Crime, Dr. Doom, the Red Skull, or Magneto, users will have to try and fight crime and save the city of New York, while also trying to plan out and carry out various crimes. The game includes 20 pre-painted figures that allow users to feel more into the action and each game takes about 60-90 minutes.

Wakanda Forever

While Marvel's Avengers players are waiting for Black Panther to arrive in-game, there's a chance to embody the character to take on some of his best-known enemies in the Wakanda Forever board game. Killmonger, Ulysses Klaue, Baron Zemo, and Taskmaster are just some of the baddies that feature in this very detailed tabletop game, which allows players to sign onto one of five tribes in order to defend Wakanda. The game also has collectible game pieces made to look like everything from pieces of Vibranium to a bust of the Black Panther himself.

Marvel Villainous: Infinite Power

Marvel's Avengers is one of the best superhero games around these days, and Marvel Villainous is easily one of the best supervillain board games out there. This asymmetric card game turns the tables a bit, as players only take on the role of some of the biggest villains in the Marvel universe. Thanos, Hela, Ultron, Taskmaster, or Killmonger are equipped with their own plans, and each one has their own abilities. Each round doesn't take too long, as the game usually takes between 40 to 80 minutes to wrap up.

5-Minute Marvel

5-Minute Marvel stands out from the rest of these games because users can play several different rounds in the time it takes to finish just one of the other games. This timed card game allows users to take on several of the heroes featured in Marvel's Avengers including the yet to arrive Spider-Man. Players are meant to team up in order to take on some of the biggest bads in the Marvel universe, as well as their henchmen. Alongside the downloadable app that can be used as the timer, the name of the game is to make decisions in the heat of the moment. When one round is over, players can choose another hero and go again.

Marvel’s Avengers is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
