The latest mobile viral sensation, Marvel Snap is one incredibly addictive card game. With some extremely simple rules and one of the best card game tutorials of all time, Marvel Snap is extremely accessible and intuitive. But after a few hours, that surface layer is peeled away gradually, and some more complex mechanics come into play, keeping experienced players hooked. One way in which Marvel Snap remains highly addictive is through its use of different locations, and the recently featured Bar Sinister location is a wild one.

For those who don't know, Marvel Snap sees players add cards to three locations. Each of these cards has a certain cost and a power-level, and the general goal is to have the most power at two of three of the locations on the board. On top of card abilities, players must also take into consideration each location, which comes with its own unique effect. These effects can range from adding new cards to the players' decks, to increasing power at that location, and many more variables. Marvel Snap's Bar Sinister location is one of the game's most chaotic.

Marvel Snap Bar Sinister Location Breakdown

Marvel Snap Bar Sinister

A play-on-words of the French term for bastardy, Bar Sinister comes from Marvel's Secret Wars run in 2015. Following a large-scale incursion event that saw a few multiverses collide with one another, Dr. Doom took control of the new world, which he named Latverion. Also known as Battleworld, this new planet was divided by Doom into different domains, each ruled by a baron that Doom had control over.

Appearing as a large island formed by towering red crystals, Bar Sinister is the domain ruled by Mr. Sinister and his many, many Sinister Clones. Acting as a hivemind, these Sinister Clones keep constant watch over their domain, which has led to few human characters wanting to live there. One of the few human characters that do live in Bar Sinister is Matt Murdock, known in this universe as Fare-Devil, who works as Mr. Sinister's head cook. Murdock attempts to poison Mr. Sinister, but the baron uses his wife, Collektra (this universe's version of Elektra) to taste the food, and Murdock is forced to watch the love of his life die.

A location with a pretty full-on backstory, Marvel Snap's Bar Sinister has a pretty anarchic ability. Unlike the Sinister London location, which adds a copy of the played card to another location, Marvel Snap's Bar Sinister fills the location with copies of the played card. This means that if a player plays a Hulk to Bar Sinister, then that location will be filled with Hulks, giving it a base power of 48 from the get-go.

Bar Sinister is certainly one of Marvel Snap's most intense locations, encouraging players to wait for the perfect moment to strike, and take control of the location with just one card that either has an excellent base power-level, or an incredibly strong ability. One of the best cards players can drop at Bar Sinister is Blue Marvel, a character that has a power-level of four, but also has an ongoing effect that increases other cards' power by +1. A Bar Sinister location filled with Blue Marvels will then give the player 16 power there, and +4 power for every card across the board, which is a hefty bonus for the other two locations. Playing Hulkbuster is also a good choice, as all four Hulkbuster cards will merge together to form one 16-power card, leaving the other three cards slots for some hard-hitting ongoing effects.
