Marvel Entertainment is producing a line of original podcast shows exclusively with SiriusXM. The catalog of audio shows will consist of new scripted and documentary series as well as ongoing podcasts.

Among the line up of new podcasts will be Marvel's Wastelanders, a multi-part scripted series focusing on older heroes including Star-Lord, Grey Widow, Old Man Hawkeye, and Old Man Logan. The series is currently scheduled to premiere exclusively on SiriusXM in 2021.

Additional new podcasts include Marvel/Method, in which rapper Method Man discusses pop culture with guests, and Marvel's Declassified, a nonfiction narrative show detailing the history of Marvel Comics. The new shows will debut on SiriusXM on November 19 and December 8, respectively. "Marvel has always told stories to entertain and inspire. And just as Marvel's stories began in the comics and grew into the rich universe we know today, we see audio storytelling as just the beginning of unlimited possibilities for our brand," said Dan Buckley, President of Marvel Entertainment, in a statement. "Our fans are consuming content more than ever, and now wherever they are, they can explore the Marvel Universe through brand-new and ongoing podcasts that bring Marvel together with the world and people around us, along with exciting new scripted content coming on SiriusXM’s platform next year."

"The popularity of podcasts continues to skyrocket, and we're thrilled to offer our subscribers an amazing selection of podcast entertainment and expand our unmatched variety of must-hear programming," added Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM's President and Chief Content Officer, in a statement. "With exclusive new series from entertainment powerhouses like Marvel and Kevin Hart, SiriusXM originals featuring some of our most popular hosts, and a collection of top shows from leading providers, our subscribers now have direct access to our new destination for podcasts without ever leaving the SiriusXM app, and this is just the beginning." SiriusXM subscribers will also be able to listen to ongoing podcasts including This Week in Marvel, Marvel's Pull List, Women of Marvel, and a new Spanish-language version of Marvel's Wolverine: The Long Night, the last of which will premiere in December. These shows can now be heard through the SiriusXM mobile app or online at SiriusXM.com before being available on Marvel.com

The Marvel podcasts slated to debut on SiriusXM in December may make up for the lack of any MCU films or television shows in 2020. While WandaVision had been expected to debut on Disney+ in December, the series eventually landed a January 2021 premiere date.

Marvel isn't the only company looking to expand its library to include podcasts. DC Comics and WarnerMedia are producing a scripted Batman podcast with Batman Begins writer David S. Goyer for Spotify.
