As part of its long-running Marvel Legends lineup, Hasbro reveals the latest addition to be a 6-inch scale of War Machine. It should be noted, however, that this is based on War Machine's appearance in Marvel Comics and not the character played by Don Cheadle in the MCU. The two are intrinsically connected now, for sure, but those who only know War Machine from the movies may be shocked by the figure's design.

Hasbro's Marvel Legends line is arguably one of its most iconic, as it dates back to 2002 when it began under Toy Biz. The core figures here are all 6-inch scales, but spin-off lines revolving around various Marvel figures have also introduced 4-inch, 8-inch, and 12-inch scales. There was a tough period for this line-up during the late 2000s when production of its figures slowed dramatically, and some believed it was canceled. However, the prominence of the MCU beginning around this time too launched it ever forward, and this is one arm of the Marvel brand that has been made all the stronger over the past decade or so.

This figure of Rhodey focuses on the points of articulation and modulation of his iconic War Machine armor. Not only is there the base figure here, but it comes with 6 accessories that allow anyone who opened the figure to change his stance in a number of ways. This includes alternate hands with which fans can attach repulsor ray blast accessories, as well as an attachment to give show off his unibeam blast effect.

Hasbro Marvel Legends Series War Machine retails at $24.99 and is expected to release in February 2023. Pre-orders for this figure begin on October 18 at 1 pm ET via Hasbro Pulse and most major retailers. It may be a bit of a wait before they ship, but at least there's not a long wait on locking one in.

Of course, War Machine was considered to be a mid-tier character once upon a time. Don Cheadle's portrayal of the War Machine in the MCU has catapulted the character's popularity, and this new figure is only the latest development regarding the character. Alongside his planned appearance in the MCU's Secret Invasion, an adaptation of the Armor Wars comic storyline is in production. It sees War Machine dealing with the tech of Tony Stark falling in the wrong hands, which could explain what happened to all of Tony Stark's suits, introduce new characters who fall into this technology hero motif, and more.

It's exciting, especially since it was recently reported that Armor Wars will be a movie instead of a Disney+ series. It doesn't have a release date quite yet, but fans will easily have their hands on this War Machine before they see Armor Wars.
