Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy officially released on October 26, meaning that it will be exactly one month old on Black Friday. For many, Guardians of the Galaxy was a bit of a surprise hit, especially following the shaky release of Marvel’s Avengers. The latter’s reputation may be improving especially with Spider-Man’s upcoming release, but GOTG managed to remove all doubts with its interesting storyline, use of the characters, and blend of MCU, comics, and original storytelling.
Indeed, many have hailed Guardians of the Galaxy as one of the best games of the year, and it stands to reason it’ll receive quite a few nominations at the upcoming Game Awards. Its popularity and success, as well as its recent release, would seemingly suggest that there won’t be any good Black Friday deals on the game. However, as it turns out, Walmart is planning to put it on sale for an incredibly cheap price.
Walmart recently released its Black Friday ad, detailing games for low, low prices and confirming it’ll have a restock of non-discounted PS5 and Xbox Series X for the holiday. Among all of the goodies of this ad is Guardians of the Galaxy, at the shocking price of $35 down from $59.99, or for a savings of 24.99. Given the sheer hype and reviews behind Guardians of the Galaxy, this is a real shocker.
Those looking to pick it up and save $25 should note that this deal is not live YET, but this price will be available beginning November 22. It’ll begin online on November 22 at 4 PM PT/7 PM ET and then in-store on November 26 (Black Friday itself) at 5 AM local time. For online shoppers, Walmart Plus Members can get early access beginning at 12 PM PT/3 PM ET on November 22. It’s uncertain how long these online deals will last, but it will likely stretch the week. Still, shoppers will want to be quick.

One quick note shoppers should be aware of is that, while this $35 deal applies to PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch, the game reportedly players better on PlayStation and Xbox. The Switch version of Guardians of the Galaxy has received much more criticism than the other platforms, so unless shopping for someone who is strictly playing on Switch, it may be best to pursue one of the other two platforms first.
