Although Marvel superheroes have various powersets to deal with different kinds of threats, it’s Marvel Future Fight that allows players to mix and match these abilities to save the universe once more. In this mobile tactical RPG, Marvel fans create teams of three from characters across the Marvel multiverse - from mainstays like the Avengers and the X-Men to the very villains they’re fighting. And among these characters segregated into Classes are Blast Characters, specializing in dishing out damage in combat.

With an ever-expanding roster of characters, Blast Characters remain some of the best damage dealers in Marvel Future Fight. However, just which Blast Characters are must-haves in any player’s arsenal in order to dominate matches?

Storm

Storm

The resident weather empress of the X-Men and wife of T’Challa’s Black Panther is no slouch in regard to combat, with Storm boasting one of the best kits as a Blast Character in the Marvel game. She can boost everyone’s speed (Leadership: Fair Wind), boost everyone’s Lightning Damage (Passive: Eye of the Storm), and boost damage depending on how much she takes (Passive: Weather Goddess). Her attacks can also invoke damage over time (Lightning Bolt), a speed debuff (Tornado Twister, Wind Shear), and a massive buff with stun (Goddess Judgment).

Aside from Storm’s gorgeous skill animations, her toolkit’s constant crowd control paves the way for the rest of the team to dish out higher damage than usual. Not only that, the supportive nature of her Passive allows her to have a DPS/Support role, something rare among Blasts. Players do need to take note of her slower movement speed, as well as an infinite channel skill that leaves her vulnerable.

Cable

Cable

The rather serious X-Men counterpart to the hilarity of Deadpool isn’t to be underestimated in the Marvel game. After all, Cable does pack quite a punch with both his arsenal of weapons and innate weapon abilities. He can have the team ignore Dodge (Leadership: Cybernetic Eye), boost penetration (Passive: Focus Shot), and boost criticals (Passive: Telekinetic Offensive). Cable also has a debuff removal (Annihilation), critical booster (Calling Providence), nifty healing (Meditation of Askani), and temporary invincibility (Future Salvation).

Aside from his rather impressive array of visual effects, Cable’s abilities to deal massive burst damage, allowing him to strike down mobs much easier on the get-go. Not to mention, his Leadership skill works great in most dispatch missions. However, as a Native Tier-2, he’s rather expensive to level up compared to others. However, having Cable may be worth the while to unlock the likes of Scarlet Witch and Apocalypse.

Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange

Armed with his mastery over the Mystic Arts, Doctor Strange proves his worth as a multiversal-level character once more in the Marvel game. Similar to his recent outing in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Doctor Strange boats quite a colorful yet utility-heavy toolkit. He can buff energy attacks (Leadership: Universal Awareness), stun foes (Passive: Master of Mystic Arts), and boost damage penetration (Passive: Divine Conduit). His attacks also stun enemies (Crimson Bands of Cyttorak, All-Seeing Eye), remove buffs (Demons of Denak), and get a CD-reset (Sorcerer Supreme).

Despite the useful nature of his kit, Doctor Strange suffers from a power creep. Not only that, his reliance on certain skill spams make him rather predictable in some situations. Moreover, being a Native Tier-2, Doctor Strange is rather expensive to power up. However, players who love their energy attacks will appreciate his Leadership Skill since it also offers a nifty Ignore Dodge option.

Invisible Woman

Invisible Woman

There’s a lot more to Sue Storm’s Invisible Woman than just being the Fantastic Four’s resident force field and invisibility master, as though she is a Jedi from Star Wars. In Future Fight, Invisible Woman boasts a lot of potential as a support character. She can boost Mind Resist to allies (Leadership: Strong Willpower), boost defenses (Passive: Invisibility Shift), and boost her overall damage (Passive: Psionic Fields). Not only that, some of her attacks can grant her great damage buffs (Invisible Blast, Force Field).

At its core, Invisible Woman’s innate invisibility and healing abilities make her one of the most potent Burst characters out there. Moreover, her debuffing Leadership Skill can be extremely debilitating to foes, especially when combined with her Fantastic Force, which gives her massive buffs. However, her biggest disadvantage would be players needing to focus on either PVP or PVE builds due to the divisive nature of her kit.

Cyclops

Cyclops

Behind the iconic visor of Cyclops is a natural leader, with Scott Summers of the X-Men bringing his trademark can-do attitude in the Marvel game. Cyclops can boost everyone’s Energy Attack (Passive: Ambient Radiation) and boost his own damage output (Passive: Visor Upgrade). Some of his attacks can also stun foes (Laser Point Strike) and get massive buffs while stunning enemies (Rays of Ruin).

Outside his rather flashy display of abilities, Cyclops does have a rather outdated kit easily bested by others in his character class. However, his Leadership: Natural Born Leader adds 25 percent to both Attack and Defense for all allies, making him a suitable character for the mid-game, especially when accompanying other heavy-hitters.

Vision

Vision 2

Thanks to his nature as an android, Vision is probably one of the most versatile characters in the Marvel game. He can boost the team’s defenses (Leadership: Prophetic Vision), get Physical Damage immunity (Passive: Energy Charge), and boost overall damage (Passive: Intangible). His attacks can also silence enemies (Structural Analysis), inflict damage over time (Rapidfire Beam, Dimensional Missiles), debuff foes (Electricity Emission, Solar Annihilation), and get temporary invincibility (Solar Energy Laser).

At his core, Vision already boasts high damage at base, although players need to get the hang of energy-based attacks dealing Physical damage. Likewise, players need to adjust to his proc rotation, as these may change depending on his utilization. Either way, Vision’s high base stats make him quite suitable as a DPS for any game mode, making him a worthy addition in the early-to-mid game.

Iron Man

Iron Man

Given the popularity of Tony Stark or Iron Man as a member of The Avengers, it makes sense for him to be one of the first available characters in Future Fight. Iron Man can lower everyone’s CDs (Leadership: Genius Level Intellect) and give himself damage buffs (Passive: Precision Aim, Evasive Maneuvers). Not only that, but his attacks may also allow him to guard against attacks (Unibeam), penetrate through tough armor (The One-Off), create an illusory copy that fights foes (House Party Protocol) or grant a massive shield (Arc Energy Shield).

While starter characters in normal games tend to be outdated pretty quickly, Iron Man secures the advantage through and through with his access to a smooth rotation that allows him to tap into his bonuses pretty quickly. Due to his ease of access, Iron Man can be easily upgraded to further maximize his damage options. Players who want to tinker with a mixture of builds can have an Iron Man as an ever-reliable DPS.

Moonstone

Moonstone

After gaining access to the powerful Kree Moonstone, Karla Sofen becomes Moonstone, an incredibly-powerful Marvel villainess who can tap into the powers of gravity and molecular manipulation. Moonstone can boost everyone’s dodge (Leadership: Dark Alignment) and even boost her own damage output (Passive: Master Manipulator, Density Manipulation). Not only that, some of her attacks can stun enemies (Intangible Revenge), inflict damage over time (Moonlight Stomp), and grant her massive buffs (Mind Control Shockwave).

Despite being a niche villain and a rather tricky acquisition via the Epic Quest, Moonstone is a must-have with her toolkit’s potential. On top of having one of the highest burst damage in the game, Moonstone also boasts healing - giving her much-needed sustains. When playing her, players do need to take note that her guard can be broken within her normal rotations.

Captain America (Sharon Rogers)

Sharon Rogers

Although Scarlet Witch makes quick work of Captain Carter in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Captain America (Sharon Rogers) is perhaps one of the best Blast characters players could get in the game. Sharon can give her team an energy shield (Leadership: Energy Redirection), boost her defenses and penetration (Passive: Fortification), and boost her overall damage (Passive: Expert Lancer). Not only that, her attacks may grant her buffs (Javelin Blast, Legendary Defender) and stun foes (Freedom Strike).

Thanks to her particular easy access through Biometrics promos, she’s a must-have among the first Tier-3 Characters for players to obtain. While it could get a while before players fully maximize her damage output, Sharon Rogers can dish out massive damage on the onset, as well as a rather reliable character to proc effects and other bonuses much faster.

Jean Grey

Jean Grey

Being one of the most difficult-to-obtain characters in the Future Fight meta, it makes sense for Jean Grey to be one of the most powerful Blast characters out there. Jean Grey can remove debuffs (Leadership: Psychic Shield) and even revive herself (Passive: Phoenix Force, Phoenix Fire). Even some of her attacks can Bind foes (Firebird), stun them with nifty damage over time (Phoenix Embrace), buff the entire team (Bonds of Destiny), buff her overall damage (Phoenix Awaken), and grant massive debuffs to enemies (Revelation).

When obtained, Jean Grey boasts a toolkit specifically tailored for PVP - complete with breaking Super Guards, as well as natural healing and revive. More than that, her high-enough elemental resistance allows her to withstand most attacks. However, her rare nature as a Native Tier-2 makes her extremely expensive to build, making her suitable for the endgame.

Marvel: Future Fight was first released on April 30, 2015, for Android and iOS.
