Whether it's movies, television shows, or video games, superheroes and supervillains are inescapable — thanks largely to the DCEU and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Where there are popular new characters, there are loads of collectibles. Funko Inc began in 1998 as a small company with the goal of bringing nostalgic toys and other merchandise to customers. Their line of Funko Pop! Vinyls have become a collectible craze. Funko produces over a thousand different pop culture vinyl toys, including a vast line revolving around Marvel and DC favorites.

Though some Funko Pops are actually worth quite a bit of money if a collector finds the right buyer, their value fluctuates based on the popularity of the item and consumer demand. Take a look at a list of 10 rare Marvel and DC Pop! Figures, and what they are worth according to estimates from Pop Price Guide.

Updated February 4, 2022 by Mark Sammut: Funko Pops have simply become a part of pop culture. Whether someone actively collects them or not, they have undoubtedly come across these small toys. Most of Funko's creations are easy to find and, consequently, not really worth anything; however, exceptions do exist. In fact, some of the rarest Funko Pops are worth hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. These are extremely valuable, and their price tends to increase with each passing year. This article has been updated with the latest estimates.

11 Batgirl (Metallic) - $1,150

BatGirl funko with character comparison

Barbara Gordon (AKA Batgirl) is a DC Universe superhero. She is prominent in the comics, as well as HBO Max's Harley Quinn animated series. Set for release in 2021, Batgirl will also be a playable character in Gotham Knights.

Though there are seven variants of this Funko Pop, the metallic Chase version of Batgirl #03 is a rare standard-issue figure. First released in 2010, Batgirl is currently vaulted and a rare find.

10 Harley Quinn (Silver) - $1,490

The Joker's sidekick and former girlfriend, Harley Quinn has become an iconic character of her own. Not only does she have her own animated series and movies, but she also features in many video games.

Silver Harley Quinn #45 dressed in her classic jester outfit premiered in 2016 as a Hot Topic limited edition Pop only available to employees of the store. Funko only made 144 figures like this one.

9 Captain America (Metallic) - $1,770

The First Avenger himself, Captain America has been a Marvel staple since 1941. Played by Chris Evans throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and recently retiring his shield, he has been a beloved hero for almost 100 years.

Exclusive to San Diego Comic-Con in 2011, the metallic bobblehead Captain America #06 is a rare find. With only 480 produced, this Funko Pop is rare and valuable.

8 The Thing (Metallic – Blue Eyes) - $1,940

The Thing Funko with character comparison

Gentle giant Ben Grimm, also known as The Thing, is a key member of the Fantastic 4 and has featured in comics, cartoons, and video games for years. His powers include super-strength, super durability, and stamina.

Exclusive to San Diego Comic-Con in 2011, The Thing #09 is a rare Funko bobblehead. Like other SDCC exclusives, Funko only produced 480 of the blue-eyed version for the world-famous convention, instantly making them a collector's item.

7 Loki (The Avengers) - $2,090

Made popular by Marvel Comics and movies, and the always handsome Tom Hiddleston himself, it's no wonder that this original Loki Pop! Vinyl is so rare! Dressed in his classic Avengers outfit, Loki #16 is worth more than $2,000, a price worthy of Asgard royalty (although the God of Mischief would probably suggest adding a few more 0s to that value).

This figure first premiered at San Diego Comic-Con in 2012, the same year as the release of Marvel's The Avengers.

6 Green Lantern (Glow In The Dark) - $2,710

Green Lantern Funko with character comparison

Several key characters wield the green power ring and bear the name of Green Lantern over DC history, such as Hal Jordan and Guy Gardner. This San Diego Comic-Con exclusive Funko Pop is Green Lantern #09.

One of seven different variants of the figure, Green Lantern #09 premiered at the famous San Diego convention in 2010. Funko only created 240 of this unique, glow-in-the-dark Pop! Vinyl, and its worth is over $2,700.

5 Superman Bobble-Head (Metallic) - $2,750

dc universe funko pop superman bobblehead

While the Silver #7 model valued at $1,300 is nothing to scoff at, Superman's most pricey Funko Pop is a Target exclusive from 2010. Dressed in his classic costume and that iconic hairstyle, this Funko Pop harbors back to the Man of Steel's glory days while highlighting his timeless attire.

This limited Chase edition model is also a bobblehead, which probably does not add much value outside a bit of novelty. Its exclusivity is what makes it so valuable.

4 Spider-Man (Metallic) - $3,400

spider-man metallic funko pop

Metallic Spider-Mans are nearly always good value, as both Funko Pops released to coincide with The Amazing Spider-Man movies can attest to. While those are worth more than a grand, 2011's Spider-Man #03 is worth about twice as much. Another San Diego Comic-Con exclusive, only 480 of these Funko Pops were created, making them highly sought-after collector's items that are appreciating in value with each passing year.

As the many films indicate, Spider-Man also happens to be one of the most beloved Marvel superheroes of all time, which certainly doesn't hurt this Funko Pop's appeal.

3 Batman (Metallic) - $4,850

batman metallic funko pop

Gotham's Caped Crusader is a contender for the most popular comic book hero of all time, perhaps only challenged by Superman and Spider-Man. A number of Batman's Funko Pops are worth a considerable amount of cash, including the silver Batman #01 model which is valued at roughly $2,600.

Still, the Blue-Metallic Bats is the one that is worth the most, mainly as it was a San Diego Comic-Con 2010 exclusive. Consequently, there are less than 500 of these on the market. For those who are lucky enough to own one of these, they are sitting on a small fortune.

2 Freddy Funko As Deathstroke (Glow In The Dark) - $7,690

deathstroke dc freddy funko

Technically, this is a cheat as Freddy Funko is not a DC or Marvel character, however, he sure loves to cosplay as one. Funko's mascot, Freddy typically hits the shelves while referencing a famous (and timely) pop culture property. Naturally, Marvel and DC are some of Freddy's favorites.

At the moment, Freddy Funko's most valuable Marvel or DC cosplay is his turn as Deathstroke. Some other pricey pops are Funko #23 which has Freddy as Joker and a Funko Funday 2019 Exclusive that has the mascot dressed as Venom.

1 Stan Lee (Superhero – Platinum Metallic) - $20,000

Stan Lee (Superhero – Platinum Metallic) funko pop

Marvel fans everywhere mourned the passing of Stan Lee, who died on November 12th, 2018. The creator of timeless superheroes such as Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Thor, Stan Lee was loved for decades for his work that touched countless lives. He lives on in fans' hearts, but Funko also has a few special figures as a way to remember him.

The Red Metallic version of Superhero Stan Lee was a Los Angeles Comic-Con exclusive in 2017 and is worth more than $7,000. Only 12 were made and they were individually signed by Stan himself, so they are worth a great deal. However, these Funko Pops are superseded by the Platinum versions, which are all signed but are even scarcer since only 10 were produced.
