Marvel is filled with powerful characters with unimaginable strength, but one of the strongest comic book characters of all time will always be the Incredible Hulk. When Bruce Banner was involved in an accident and hit by a massive wave of gamma energy, he was drastically altered and assumed the ability to transform into a gigantic mass of strength and rage. Over his continuity, the Hulk has brawled with all kinds, from the cosmic entity Galactus to the king of Asgard, Thor. On multiple occasions, the Hulk has dominated his opponents with a string of intense abilities. 5 Hulk Smash!
The Hulk's most iconic attack is perhaps his most simple. When villains and sometimes heroes alike hear the Hulk shout these two words, they know something big is coming. The Hulk raises both fists above his head and fills them with deep-seated anger as he brings them down in a thunderous slam. The force behind this blow is cataclysmic and sends a line of destruction toward its target.
Sometimes, the Hulk uses this attack to trip up his opponents or send them flying away to be buried under thousands of pounds of debris. Hulk has leveled entire coastlines with this attack and is usually on a berserker rage when it's used. During a fight in Asgard against Thor, the fight between the two was so chaotic that it shook the very realm to its foundations and would have destroyed Asgard had it continued.
4 The Hulk Clap
The Hulk Clap is another staple attack the Hulk uses against any and all comers. Most often used for defense even though it is an extremely powerful attack in its own right, when the Hulk brings his hands together, they create a devastating shockwave of force that radiates in a wide arc.
The force of this attack can vary based on the goal. The clap can put out fires, knock down mountains, or send giant monsters into space. However, it seems to be the only show of force that the Hulk has complete control over. In the comics, the Hulk has accomplished multiple victories with this attack alone, including defeating the demon Diablo by causing a hurricane with his clap. In one instance, the Hulk unleashed this attack on the entire universe and tore the fabric of reality.
3 Hulk Charge
The Hulk's size can vary from issue to issue, but at any given moment, he can weigh anywhere between one and ten tons of pure muscle. Having that much mass moving as fast as it can is enough to make even Captain America move out of the way.
When the Hulk charges full force, each step makes an earthquake. Once contact is made with whatever the Hulk is chasing, the force levels almost everything nearby. In one instance, the Hulk ran head first into a Trillion ton punch with the weight of several worlds behind it, and it only slowed him down for a single moment before he was back on the move. The freight train known as the Hulk has completely run over some of the strongest heroes and villains in the Marvel universe, including Thor, The Juggernaut, Red Hulk, and Iron Man’s Hulk-Buster armor.
2 World's Strongest Punch
One of the most devastating attacks in the green machine's arsenal is the world's strongest punch. When the Hulk has his back against the wall and has had enough of whatever his target is, he can wind back his fist and let fly a strike of unrivaled power.
A punch from the Hulk is not to be underestimated. With one strike, the Hulk has accomplished monumental tasks such as knocking out the Son of Odin, shattering Onslaught's armor, and even punching time itself. The rage, power, and strength that radiate from the blows from the Hulk are capable of crossing dimensions and are sometimes too strong for gods to withstand.
1 Gamma Burst
The Gamma Burst may be more of an explosion than a controlled attack. When the Hulk’s anger reaches its limit, and he harnesses the gamma power in his body, he can unlock a form called “World Breaker.” In this World Breaker form, the Hulk's strength is magnified a thousand-fold, with his footsteps alone possessing the force needed to destroy an entire city. The first time that the Hulk reached this level of anger was after the death of his wife and the destruction of the planet he had finally found peace on.
While in this form, Hulk can fully manipulate the gamma energy inside his body and unleash it in a massive explosion that can be compared to the power of multiple nuclear bombs. When the Hulk throws caution to the wind and wants to smash everything, he unleashes a gamma burst and turns everything around him to dust.
