Marvel vs Capcom 3 Screenshots Jill Valentine Shuma Gorath

Fans of fighters must be holding their breath around the world, as each bit of information regarding Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds is promising a new superpower in the genre. We told you a few months ago that picking up the Special Edition of the game would net you bonus DLC characters Jill Valentine and Shuma Gorath, and now Capcom has release a few brand new screenshots showing the pair in action.

They will definitely have a lot of company when the game launches later this month, with fan favorites and classic fighters representing both sides of what is set to become the biggest rivalry in fighting video games.

The last two members of the roster were announced last week, and these screens confirm that regardless of who a player may select as their go-to combatant, MvC 3 promises stunning visuals and the ability to dole out justice almost as ruthlessly as Capcom.

Take a look at Resident Evil's femme fatale, and everyone's favorite giant one-eyed squid Shuma Gorath in these latest screenshots of Marvel Vs. Capcom 3:

Whether or not you'll be trying out the two fighters, or sticking to your usual gang, it's nice to see that characters from both sides are being given an equal amount of time and energy. The fact that Capcom is putting just as much attention on the Marvel roster - evident from the game's cinematic trailer and opening video - is a good sign that there won't be any favoritism going on.

With the MvC3 hype-train running at full-steam, it's safe to say that the excitement for the game is at its highest, which has to make Capcom and Marvel happy. The publisher has made it clear that they have high hopes for the game, both in its effect on the genre, and in terms of sales numbers.

So if Jill Valentine and Shuma Gorath look like two fighters that you absolutely have to try out for yourself, you'll need to pony up the extra money for a Special Edition of the game. Considering the fact that the two are bonus characters are downloaded, and the genre's tendency to offer additional skins or costumes, there is a chance that additional characters just might be made available down the road.

Capcom hasn't confirmed it, but in case your favorite characters didn't make the final cut, you can stil  hold out hope that they'll be appearing alongside the others in the near future.

Jill and Shuma will be leading the charge when Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is released on February 15, for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
