This year's EVO 2013 has come to a close, and fighting game enthusiasts witnessed some truly classic bouts from a number of the best players in the world. Everything from Street Fighter IV to Super Smash Bros. Melee were present at the event, which gave fight fans plenty of world tournament calibre brawls to enjoy, but gamers were also treated to a number of big announcements pertaining to some of their favorite games.

Capcom took the liberty of announcing yet another iteration of its beloved Street Fighter IV, appropriately titled Ultra Street Fighter IV, while Warner Bros. Interactive revealed that the heavily requested Martian Manhunter will finally be making his way to Injustice: Gods Among Us. Fans of the DC Comics-centric beat 'em-up have been clamouring for the martian's inclusion long before the game even released, which easily makes him one of the (if not the) biggest downloadable characters made available to-date.

Injustice: Gods Among Us Martian Manhunter DLC

Despite being an obvious addition after being heavily hinted at during Scorpion's reveal trailer, Martian Manhunter comes packed with a ridiculous number of powerful moves; all of which have been tailored to the new combatant's unique set of powers and abilities. Whether it's stretching his limbs while striking, teleporting to deliver a devastating blow, or sending his opponents to Mars before quickly growing in size and crushing them with boulders, there's plenty of new moves for Injustice: Gods Among Us aficionados to look forward to.

Accompanying Martian Manhunter is a John Stewart skin for the Green Lantern, which includes a completely different voice actor and new dialogue options. The inclusion of another Green Lantern, albeit a new skin, is wonderful and acts as a nice little bonus for dedicated followers of the title.

Including this newly announced character, there are a total of five downloadable fighters currently available for Injustice: Gods Among Us — joining the likes of Lobo, Batgirl, Scorpion, and Zod. Given the apparent popularity of the game's DLC, there will likely be even more characters added to Injustice in the coming months, but NetherRealm isn't ready to give away details on those combatants just yet.

Martian Manhunter's arrival is currently sans release date so stay tuned to Game Rant for more details on the character as soon as they're made available.
