For an adventure that is as deep as Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, there is a lot to learn and understand about the worlds that Mario and friends are visiting on their way to defeat the evil Cursa. To try to teach the player, one type of collectible that shows up frequently are memories.

Memories focus in on one aspect of the Sparks of Hope overall story to give players a background that they may not get in the main quest arc. Luckily, there are plenty of memories to collect, including at the game's first location of Beacon Beach.

Starting Memories

Beacon Beach is the first area that players will land in after completing the initial tutorial. This world is all about getting used to the flow of running through an open hub and fighting enemies that might be lurking. As for learning about the world, players will immediately recieve six memories at the start.

This includes memories that show the background of Jeanie, the origins of the Rabbid translator, details on Sparks, what has happened in the previous entry, an understanding of the spaceship, and even a memory dedicated to memories. These memories are located in its own tab in the map menu.

Purchasable Memories

Throughout the game, there will be a couple of memories in each world that can only be retrieved by purchasing them. The shop itself is not hard to find as it is manned by a Robot Rabbid and is located right outside the lighthouse area facing the direction of the DJ.

The three memories that can be bought all focus on different enemies that players will face in the game. This includes the default enemy of "The Stooges," as well as a memory on Goombas and one memory on Scopers. Each memory can be purchased for one Planet Coin, which can be collected by completing side quests.

Bob-ombs

Most memories will be found around the world, usually hidden behind some sort of obstacle that the party must overcome. In the middle of the main island mass right next to beach, players will see an elevated area that is covered in Darkmess.

This will lead to a battle that will need to be won to complete "The Bottom Rung of Darkmess" sidequest. This will earn the player a planet coin, but will also grant players access to a ladder that they can climb. This leads to the "Bob-ombs" memory that can be retrieved from the crab on the ground.

The Lighthouse

The Lighthouse Memory location in Mario Rabbids Sparks of Hope

Beacon Beach's lighthouse is a central aspect of the main quest on this planet. However, the memory for this structure is not actually inside of it. Instead, it is behind it on a small island that players can reach by just walking in the shallow water.

Unfortunately, getting to the memory is not easy. Guarding the island is a Goomba with a pot on its head. It is a Level 10 fight that players will need to overcome to gain access to everything else on the island. Once it is defeated, they will earn a prize immediately. However, the memory is located behind the giant rock on the island.

Sunrise Temple

When entering the Sunrise Temple for the first time, players will come across a flowing stream with no way to get across. Before trying to do so, face the stream then head to the path on the left. Turn right, then keep turning left until a straight path reveals the location of a memory at the end.

It is with this memory that players can learn about the Sunrise Temple and the various rooms within this. Luckily, after reaching the end of this path, players will be able to hop right back down to an area where they first entered and walk right back to the water to advance in the temple.

Augie

Augie is Beacon Beach's warden who the party will meet from the moment they step foot on the planet. He is a flawed but lovable figure that players will learn a lot about through the murals in the Sunrise Temple. But there is also a memory that can be collected dedicated to him.

In that same water room, a crab can be spotted on a ledge to the right before crossing the river. Once players go through the story and are in the room with the pillars, players should be able to go up a ladder to the right and keep walking until they stumble upon it.

Wildclaws

The Wildclaw Memory location in Mario Rabbids Sparks of Hope

One of the more brutal enemies that the party will face on their adventure are the Wildclaws. These large cat-like creatures can deal significant damage to almost any party members and will likely have some special move that can make them even harder to defeat.

To find the memory dedicated to these Wildclaws, players will need to have taken care of the main boss of the Sunrise Temple and should be able to take a left at the checkpoint flag following the pillar room. Before going up a ladder to a door, head left and climb that ladder to reach a crab sitting on a bridge.

Galactic Atlas: Beacon Beach

Every planet also has its own memory that players will want to keep an eye out for. These memories are called "Galactic Atlas," and each one contains a history of the planet and how Rabbids spend their time in the area. The Beacon Beach memory is located on the first floor of the lighthouse.

Head all the way to the left to spot a blue pipe. Jump in and players will see a P-Block. Activating it will begin the Blue Coin Challenge, where the party needs to collect all the blue coins in the room before time runs out. Succeeding at this will get players a prize and the Galactic Atlas entry for Beacon Beach.

Giant Enemies

The "Giant Enemies" memory is among the easier ones to get if the goal is to just go through the main quests. In the Sunrise Temple, the party will take on a Giant Wildclaw after being introduced to Edge. This is part of the "In Deep Water" quest that is necessary for completing that world.

After successfully beating it, the reward screen will pop up and will display that the party has earned that memory. While completing this quest will also give a Purified Darkmess Energy Crystal necessary to get to the next planet, it is nice to have another memory for the collection.

Rabbid Mario

Completing some side quests will also automatically reward a memory. This includes memories about other party members. A memory that can be picked up in Beacon Beach is one for Rabbid Mario. This can be done by completing "The Pugilist and the Princess."

Located at a lookout point in the upper area of Beacon Beach, this puddle has Rabbid Mario and Peach working together using their skills to win a battle as a duo. Along with the memory, the main rewards for completing is a new skin for Rabbid Mario's weapon and a Planet Coin that can be used to purchase items at the shop.

DJ Cheep Tuna

It is helpful when the memory that needs to be acquired is about the individual that can reward it. DJ Cheep Tuna is on the beach and, following the events of the main quests, he will ask the player to retrieve two records that are sitting on the beach. These are easy to get and are in view from where the DJ station is.

However, after handing over the records, a Darkmess will overcome the area and the party will need to destroy it to succeed. Winning the battle will get the party Aquadash, a spark that can equip a water effect to dashes, and will also give the memory of DJ Cheep Tuna.
