When Mario Kart Tour was first announced and later released for mobile platforms, it was initially criticized as a stripped-down version of the Mario Kart series. Over time, Mario Kart Tour has developed its own fanbase, praising its inclusion of Tours which are the game's version of event banners found in other mobile games.

Another tour is on the way for Mario Kart Tour players following the conclusion of the "Peach vs Daisy" tour alongside the "Valentine 2020" tour. The "Peach vs Daisy" tour, which ran for two weeks and ends today, introduced the RMX Choco Island 2 course, a remixed version of Choco Island 2 originally featured in Super Mario Kart. In the upcoming "Snow Tour" course, another classic course from a previous Mario Kart returns, this time from Mario Kart Wii.

The upcoming "Snow Tour," beginning later in the evening today, adds the DK Summit course from Mario Kart Wii as its signature course of the tour. DK Summit makes the second time that a course from Mario Kart Wii is used, the first being Maple Treeway from the "Halloween 2020" tour. This continues the appeal of Mario Kart Tour as the inclusion of these classic courses is shown in unique ways, with some courses fueling nostalgia as they hadn't been featured in a Mario Kart title in over a decade.

A new character is also teased this time around, revealing Penguin Yellow Toad from New Super Mario Bros Wii racing on the half-pipe in the background behind Peach and Wario who are also wearing winter attire. With the lack of an announcement involving a potential new Mario Kart title as fans of the series anticipated in last week's Direct, the content featured in the Snow Tour will hopefully hold fans over in the meanwhile.

Mario Kart Tour is currently available for iOS and Android devices.
