Mario Kart Tour is starting to get into the holiday spirit as December begins this year. On December 1, Mario Kart Tour gets a new update adding a brand new holiday-themed course to the game.

The course is called Merry Mountain and is a series original course, meaning it hasn’t appeared in any other Mario Kart title beforehand. Previous winter updates simply added new themed tours and cosmetics, but now Mario Kart Tour is getting an all new course to celebrate the holiday season.

Not much has been revealed about Merry Mountain as of yet, besides two screenshots that the official Mario Kart Tour Twitter account posted recently. The course appears to be based off a snowy mountain village, complete with festive Christmas lights and other holiday-themed decorations. The course looks like it runs along two mountain peaks, complete with a massive descent down the side of the larger, snowy mountain peak. Merry Mountain’s launch on December 1 marks another winter-themed tour in Mario Kart Tour that should last for most of, if not all, of December.

While not many teaser images of the course have been shown, it appears some interesting information is being teased in the latest image. In the screenshot included with Mario Kart Tour’s Merry Mountain announcement, players can just barely make out the edge of a character trailing behind Mario’s kart. If one’s zooms into the picture enough, it appears that it’s a small segment of what appears to be Bowser in a holiday-themed outfit following behind Mario and Yoshi in similarly themed outfits. It seems like some of Mario Kart Tour’s racers may also be getting brand new outfits this holiday season alongside the new Merry Mountain track.

Mario Kart Tour is available now on mobile devices.
