Mario Kart 3DS recently received a name change when Nintendo announced the price drop of their Nintendo 3DS, and they confirmed the title would be launching this year in time for the Holidays. The game shall now forever be known as Mario Kart 7 - and Nintendo has reconfirmed the game's name change by releasing a new and improved official logo.

If that wasn't enough, then fans of the arcade racer will be delighted to see some very nice promotional art featuring karting veterans Mario, Luigi, and Bowser.

Not many details were released on the new game, but the logo certainly does look pretty awesome. All of the promotional shots, featuring some of the Mushroom Kingdom's best racers, are pretty cool and show off some of the new rides that make their debut in Mario Kart 7.

The monster truck, glider, and standard kart are all shown-off in the high-quality images - and they all look pretty freaking awesome.

The game certainly seemed like it was coming along quite nicely when we got our hands on it at this year's E3, and the fact that Retro Studios has helped with the game's development is a very reassuring sign. Of course, I don't think it's possible for a Mario Kart game to be bad, so I doubt anyone was worried about the quality of Mario Kart 7 to begin with.

Hopefully Nintendo gives us a better release date instead of its current, but vague, release window of December, because fans (myself included) really can't wait for something else to play on the 3DS.

Mario Kart 7 will surely be a fun racer, just like every other instalment before it, so the sooner it's in the hands of consumers that better off Nintendo's stock will be.
