Once players have completed the Three Great Trials in Mario Golf: Super Rush, they'll learn more about the game's main villain, the Snow King. Before they can even think about taking him on though, they'll first need to uncover the Flame Gem, which is being guarded by a mythical phoenix-like creature known only as the Sacred Flamebeast.

To find the Sacred Flamebeast, Players will have to make their way to the Treasure Corner region of the Balmy Dunes area. To get there, they'll just need to follow the red arrow up the rocky path near the gate that leads to the course's back nine holes. Wario and Waluigi will also show up in search of treasure, but will end up serving as a distraction for the beast as the player brings it down.

When players first arrive in Treasure Corner, they should notice several shining patches on the ground near the center of the area. After the lightning god bewitches Wario and Waluigi, players will need to head to one of these spots and then use the Blast Shot technique that Master Duff taught them to unearth the Flame Gem. Doing so will trigger a short cut-scene in which the Flamebeast appears and, after it's over, players will be thrown straight into a battle.

Once players gain control of their Mii golfer, they'll need to wait a few moments for Wario to summon in some lightning orbs. They'll fall from the sky in a few different locations and will show up as exclamation points on the mini map. While standing near one of these orbs, players will be able to press the A button to take up their golf stance and then hit the orb as they would a normal ball.

To complete the first phase of the battle, players will need to hit the Flamebeast three times, while also being sure to keep one eye on their water meter in the top left corner of the screen. As with the Speed Golf challenges at the Balmy Dunes course, this meter will drain gradually over time and will also go down if players get hit by any of the bird's attacks. Providing players are accurate with their shots, they shouldn't really need to worry too much about running out of water. Just to be safe, though, it may be worth equipping the Cool Attire.

Phase 2 Of The Sacred Flamebeast Battle

Upon hitting the Sacred Flamebeast with three lightning orbs, it will begin to charge a huge ball of blue energy above its head. At this point, the lightning god will mention that the Flambeast is getting weak and suggest using a Duff Shot to reflect its attack back at it in order to finish it off. As the attack will automatically target the player wherever they are, they shouldn't need to move to initiate the technique.

That said, if there happens to be a pillar between the player and the Flamebeast, it might be worth moving a little to the left or right to ensure a clean hit. Assuming they already have a clear shot lined up, however, players will simply need to press the A button once to bring up the Duff Shot meter. As in their training and the last of the Three Great Trials, they'll then need to press A again when all of the rings are lined up and achieve either Nice or Perfect timing to land the final blow and defeat the Sacred Flamebeast once and for all.
