A modder named Armando Arrendondo updated Mario's look in the game. A video was posted on the Super Mario 64 PC port's official YouTube channel detailing the intricacies of his work. The modder adjusted a character model from Super Mario Galaxy to work in the PC version. Currently, Mario is the only part of the game that is in HD, and while it may be odd for a Mario with a more modern appearance to be running through a more pixelated world, another modder is working on that side of the graphics.

The video showcases improved details on parts of the background like the stained glass window of Princess Peach and the carpets in the castle. While Nintendo is taking legal action against the game, modders will still be working to improve the PC version of the game from all sorts of different angles. The game is the same classic one that fans remember, but with these visual updates, fans can collect the 120 stars of Super Mario 64 in style from the comfort of their own computers.
