With nearly two decades on the market, World of Warcraft fans have found all sorts of strange things both in and out of the game. One World of Warcraft fan discovered their local hospital was playing the cinematic trailer for the Mists of Pandaria expansion on repeat.

Redditor nazranramlee reported the discovery from their local hospital in Puchong, Malaysia. According to the post, the cinematic trailer cycled back through its playlist multiple times with no apparent explanation as to why.

The Mists of Pandaria cinematic trailer itself features a human Alliance soldier and an orcish Horde warrior battling, only for the Pandaren brewmaster Chen Stormstout to interrupt them in a beautiful, exciting, and comical fight scene that still holds up today. However, the cinematic is for an expansion from 2012, raising questions as to why the hospital was playing it in the first place.

Some World of Warcraft fans who replied to nazranramlee’s post had a few theories. One fan reported they had seen the same trailer playing on other hospital televisions for over six years. They surmised the systems were set up by the same contractor, and simply thought the trailer was a cool, free animation they could cycle through for entertainment purposes. Another Redditor reported a local botanical conservatory has played relaxing zone themes from the Grizzly Hills, Howling Fjord, and other Wrath of the Lich King zones for the last six years as well, and wondered if there was a correlation.

Regardless of the real reason, World of Warcraft fans found it hilarious. Some fans joke that nazranramlee had somehow slipped into the past, while others wondered if the hospital had grabbed the wrong video when searching for Kung Fu Panda. Plenty of others ignored the joke, and instead expressed concern over the poster’s health, and wished them a short stay at the hospital. Nazranramlee has posted since then, so whatever drew them to the hospital in the first place is hopefully resolved.

World of Warcraft fans have been fondly remembering Mists of Pandaria recently, as it approaches its 10-year anniversary. Though it had a mixed reception initially, the expansion broke ground in unexpected ways and provided a unique World of Warcraft experience with hallmarks of exploration and discovery. According to the developers, World of Warcraft is taking heavy inspiration from Mists of Pandaria for Dragonflight, its upcoming expansion pack. With heavy themes of exploration, many World of Warcraft players are optimistically looking forward to seeing what Dragonflight has to offer.

World of Warcraft is available now on PC.
