The Pokemon GO craze may have peaked during the summer of 2016, but that doesn't mean the game's die-hard fans aren't still playing even at the most surprising times and places. Most recently, a celebrity Pokemon GO player was spotted taking a break from the Golden Globe Awards red carpet activities to pull out the app and catch a few new monsters.

Jason Ralph, most well known for his role in The Magicians, attended the Golden Globes a few nights ago and brought his favorite app along with him. The actor spent at least some of his time on the exclusive red carpet attempting to catch a Rattata and documenting the encounter on his instagram account.

Here's a look at the common Pokemon invading the Golden Globes red carpet event...

Jason didn't update with any other catches during the rest of the night, but hopefully something more exciting than a Rattata made an appearance. Perhaps there was even a Battle Raid at the venue where he and some other actors and actresses could take down and catch a boss.

We've reached out to Jason to ask what other exciting Pokemon showed up for the event and we'll update if we hear back from the actor.

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
