Fall is right around the corner and the age of Adventures in the Forgotten Realms will be coming to an end in Magic: The Gathering’s hot seat. The Dungeons and Dragons-themed set will still be Standard legal for a very long time, but a new Limited format will likely be stealing all of the spotlight in late September when Innistrad Midnight Hunt launches.
Now that the upcoming horror-themed Magic The Gathering set is just a month away, it’s nearly time for spoiler season to really kick off. A few teaser cards and mechanics were revealed during Magic Showcase 2021, but that was just the tip of the iceberg. The set debut is just hours away and that should help players understand a lot more about Midnight Hunt’s plot, characters, themes, and gameplay mechanics.
As mentioned, a handful of cards have already been spoiled, but there is still a lot to learn about this return to Innistrad before it arrives at the end of September. With that in mind, players who want to learn more should definitely plan to tune in to the Innistrad Midnight Hunt set debut stream later this week.

Innistrad: Midnight Hunt begins our new story ripped right from the worries of Innistrad's populace: a night that may never end. With the sun rising later and setting sooner each day, they turn to the hope of the Harvesttide festival and a ritual with warlocks to maintain the balance.
Like any new set, it will be very exciting to find out how Midnight Hunt’s cards and mechanics impact the Standard format and if it will include any cards that could be playable in Historic, Modern, or other formats. So far there have already been a handful of very interesting cards and deck brewers are already imagining ways that some of the new tools can work into existing decks or inspire new homebrews that could shake up the current MtG metagame landscape.
