There are some levels in video games that are memorable for an epic sequence or an intense encounter that lives with a player long after beating the game. On the flip side, there are those levels that are so dreadful they paint the rest of the experience, and Mafia: Definitive Edition will still have the latter.

When Mafia was originally released, the game was praised for portrayal of the Mafia life in the 1930's. The story, as seen in the trailer for the Mafia remake, brings the player through the life of Tommy Angelo as he rises in the Mafia scene. During a certain sequence of events, the player must race in a tough sequence driving a vehicle that isn't particularly easy to drive. In Mafia: Definitive Edition, the sequence returns.

Being a remake developer, Hanger 13 is keen on replicating the feeling of the original, including the feeling of that particular sequence. Despite the intention, the voice actor for Tommy has been recast for the Mafia remake. One positive change is that Mafia: Definitive Edition will be using the modern controls from Mafia 3, so the difficulty may be more focused on skills rather than fighting the controls, and an easy mode is also will be made available for those interested.

Mafia: Definitive Edition looks to be a worthy remake to the original game. Hanger 13's last effort, Mafia 2, has been poorly received since its release with visual glitches and game-breaking bugs.  Visually, the remake is on par - if not more impressive than - Mafia 3, and Mafia: Definitive Edition may fill the void left with the lack of a modern- day open world game this gen.

Mafia: Definitive Edition will launch on September 25 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.
