Mafia: Definitive Edition has been highly anticipated by fans of the original game and series. The game is a remake of the first installment of the franchise and looks set to greatly improve the visuals and gameplay that previously featured in the widely enjoyed original title. As a result, many players are expecting Mafia: Definitive Edition to be one of the biggest releases of September and fans got an insight into how the open-world will look through a new teaser trailer.

The original game was released in 2002 and followed the unlikely rise of Thomas "Tommy" Angelo through the mob and the challenges they face during prohibition. The remake looks set to provide a catalog of updates and breathe new life into this story. After a couple of delays to Mafia: Definitive Edition, the game looks set to release at the end of the month and the new look at the city will excite fans who want to return to Lost Heaven.

The Mafia: Definitive Edition trailer runs for under a minute but highlights the beauty of the rebuilt world and its "distinct" areas by panning through in-game footage that shows incredibly realistic streets. Alongside these panning shots are scenes of action that include realistic flames, car chases, and most importantly plenty of gunfire. Through text, the trailer details the setting and it seems to be exciting fans of the city of Lost Heaven. Many of the comments on the video express anticipation for the title, with some tipping the game to be one of the best remakes of the year.

Some fans have noted that the original game is their preferred title and while this maybe because of the story many will hope that the game will avoid the pitfalls that the rest of the series has found. Most recently the remaster of Mafia 2 was filled with glitches and while this game has had a development approach it may concern players. Whether the game can avoid issues and deliver a stunning open-world remains to be seen, but this trailer gives fans plenty to look forward to.

The visual improvements in Mafia: Definitive Edition are evident and many will hope that the gameplay will also have some tweaks to make it more enjoyable for a contemporary audience. If the game does manage to do this, while avoiding technical issues, it may be a hit with longtime fans as well as newcomers to this celebrated franchise.
