‘Madden NFL 25’ Trailer Highlights Next-Gen Visual Improvements

By | 3 years ago

With the current-gen versions of Madden NFL 25 now available for fan consumption, the attention now turns to the next-gen versions of the game, which are slated to hit store shelves next month.

Alongside a new roster and some general gameplay improvements, Madden NFL 25 on Xbox One and PS4, of course, brings the promise of better graphics, a byproduct of new, more powerful consoles. And so, to better illuminate that point, EA Sports has released a new trailer focused exclusively on the improved look of the game.

The trailer touches on many of the visual improvements in Madden NFL 25, including better fidelity for the player animations, more details in the skin and jerseys, and improved stadium textures. All of which will presumably go into making for a more realistic-looking experience.

One area that Madden NFL 25, at least based on this trailer, appears to be leaps and bounds above its current-gen counterpart is in the facial animations for players. Details like skin blemishes, facial hair, and tattoos look much improved in this next-gen version. The facial model of Drew Brees in particular looks phenomenal — almost like the real thing.

Madden NFL 25 Next-Gen Trailer

Of course, for as much as this trailer will get players excited for Madden NFL 25‘s visuals advancements, it doesn’t show much actual gameplay — specifically how it will look on home TVs. Most of the scenes shown in the trailer are meant to highlight the visuals from specific angles, not necessarily show how the game looks in full motion with HUD elements and whatnot.

That doesn’t mean Madden NFL 25 won’t be a gorgeous looking game on the Xbox One or PS4, just that it’s still too early to judge the final product, no matter how impressive the trailer looks. For example, the first next-gen trailer for all of EA Sports’ forthcoming slate featured some jaw-dropping visuals, but it turns out most of those graphics were pre-rendered. The game still looks very good, though.

What do you think of this closer look at the graphics in Madden NFL 25? What about the game’s visuals impresses you the most?
