A new player has experienced a rather peculiar glitch in Madden NFL 23, which caused multiple skyscraper buildings to appear in the middle of the field. Their first time playing the game, the person who experienced the bug posted a screenshot of the issue online, which is quickly gaining the attention of the Madden NFL 23 community.

The long-running football simulator franchise released its latest iteration on August 19, 2022. Launching just a few months ago, the game has suffered from numerous bugs and glitches, leading to widespread complaints from the fan community.

The odd Madden NFL 23 skyscraper glitch comes from Reddit user u/raiden10102, who posted the ridiculous-looking screenshot to one of the platform's main forums for the game. The still image shows the Baltimore Ravens lined up against the Tennessee Titans, along with a good chunk of a city skyline. Multiple skyscraper buildings can be seen occupying the gridiron as well, with some even of partial buildings towards the right of the picture. Making it an even worse experience is the caption, which informs viewers that this is the first time the gamer has ever played Madden NFL 23.

Although the post has plenty of comments populating it, none of them are of actual shock or concern. The Madden community seems to take the glitches in stride, with most complaints being that they themselves didn't get any "cool" glitches on their copy. The glitch interestingly comes shortly after Madden NFL 23's December update, which added the highly-requested MUT Practice Mode - along with supposed balance changes and bug fixes - which may have created entirely new bugs like the one shown above.

While the skyscraper glitch is one of the more humorous bugs seen in the game, others have been far more frustrating. Madden NFL 23's Franchise Mode was reportedly unplayable a few months ago, with some players still reporting issues with the mode. Autosaves were apparently not functioning correctly, with widespread reports of game stats, scores, and upgrades not saving, as well as being kicked from online modes while actively playing.

The constant stream of bugs and glitches, as well as the overall perceived "staleness" of the annually released game have led many to think that the Madden NFL franchise should skip a year. Many regular players have tried pushing for EA to take an extra year to really stomp out the numerous bugs that each year's release seems to have, as well as have more time to develop more innovative gameplay improvements. While unlikely, maybe seeing things like the skyscraper glitch will convince the developer to put a little more time into the next iteration of the game.

Madden NFL 23 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
