Xbox Game Pass has already cultivated quite the library over the years, from blockbuster titles like Doom Eternal and Gears 5 to smaller gems such as Untitled Goose Game and Prison Architect. The lineup is filled with some major games, and it seems Microsoft has just queued up another significant release for those subscribed to the service: Madden NFL 21.

As announced by Xbox Game Pass's Twitter account, Madden NFL 21 will officially be available for Game Pass Ultimate owners next week. The most recent iteration of EA's annual sports franchise, the game will debut on March 2, with its arrival on Xbox's flagship service coming thanks to its partnership with EA Play.

For those who don't follow the Madden series, NFL 21 hasn't been a fan-favorite thus far. The game was controversial upon release due to its lack of innovation over its predecessor, but its microtransactions soon made the fanbase angrier. On top of that, the title came loaded with a laundry list of bugs, with players reporting countless issues found throughout the game. It didn't alleviate the frustrations most yearly Madden players have held with the franchise for the past few years, even after patches fixed some of its most pressing issues.

Regardless, it's a big get for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, adding another sports game to the service alongside PES 2021, FIFA 20, and UFC 3. As for what's new in Madden NFL 21, players were able to access a story mode known as "Face Of The Franchise: Rise To Fame," which allowed them to create their own star and take them from competing in high school to a hall of fame career. It also implemented new features to offer "advanced levels of control," with a fresh Skill Stick system and evasive moves. Finally, it added "The Yard," a brand-new backyard football league reminiscent of FIFA's Volta mode.

As for other games recently added to Xbox Game Pass, the service is launching several new titles this month, including Dirt 5, Elite Dangerous, Killer Queen, Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire, and Wreckfest. It will also be losing some titles, with the likes of Oxenfree, Dirt 4, and The Jackbox Party Pack 4 all disappearing by the end of February. The service continues to be a comprehensive collection of some of gaming's biggest names, with EA's partnership helping it grow an unparalleled library of blockbuster experiences.

Madden NFL 21 is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
