EA confirmed when fans will be able to get the first look at Madden NFL 21 gameplay. The company did show a Madden NFL 21 trailer during the Xbox Series X gameplay reveal event earlier this month, but it only featured Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes II officially announcing the game and teasing some of its features.

In a post on Twitter, the official Madden NFL account announced that the first Madden NFL 21 gameplay will be shown on June 1, 2020. The tweet said that the game is "so much more than a name" and that it would offer the "first look" of the game. It's unclear how long the gameplay reveal will be, and if it will provide a full overlook of the game's modes or just the main changes to on the field action.

The changes to the new game haven't been confirmed, but Madden NFL fans have more than a few ideas. One of the biggest suggestions in the response to the gameplay reveal tweet is for EA to make Franchise Mode better, and for the new game to feature the "coaching carousel." The coaching carousel is what it's called when coaches are hired (and fired) in the off-season, and some fans would like to see that made a more integral part of the title. However, fans do not seem incredibly optimistic with some saying that as EA can't make money from microtransactions with these features, they're unlikely to be shown any love.

Unfortunately for EA, the negative feelings about Madden NFL 21 don't end there. One tweet saying that they are "let down" by the series every year has 158 likes, while another calling for the NFL to strip EA of the league's exclusive rights has 383. In March, 2K Sports did confirm that it has several NFL 2K games in development, but it seems unlikely that these games will be fighting Madden NFL or that they will allow 2K to wrestle the license from EA's grip.

While it's unclear if Madden NFL 21 will bring about the changes that some fans want, it should offer smaller changes that are important but may not make headlines. Fans found hilarious bugs in Madden NFL 20 such as one that allowed players to carry the ball with their helmet. It's unlikely that the new game will be completely bug-free but that's one that has likely been fixed.

There is also likely to be huge talk about the Madden NFL 21 roster. The Madden NFL 20 roster stats, like they do every year, upset some fans and players but part of the fun of seeing a new Madden NFL game is seeing how players are rated.

Madden NFL 21 launches later this year for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and various other systems.
