After completing several simple challenges in Madden NFL 21, players will be tasked with picking a captain for their Ultimate Teams, and there are four distinct options. Those options are Ed McCaffrey (WR), Eddie George (RB), La'Roi Glover (DT), and Aeneas Williams (CB), and selecting the best of the bunch can prove to be quite difficult. Fortunately, there are two team captains in Madden 21 that really seem to be at the head of the pack, and fans should consider them both carefully.
In preface of going into the best team captains in Madden NFL 21, it is worth mentioning that players are able to change their selections if they wish to. This means that fans will be able to make adjustments as they become more familiar with the needs of their teams and how games play out, and thus they should not be overly-concerned with making the perfect pick the first time around. That said, Ed McCaffrey and Aeneas Williams are very strong options, and they are both in the running for best team captain overall.
With respect to McCaffrey, his stats are simply impressive, bringing great catching, route running, size, and speed to the table. While it is true that the availability or Level Master Andrea Johnson makes picking this Broncos wide receiver slightly less desirable, McCaffrey will have a big impact on an Ultimate Team's offensive capabilities, and Madden players should certainly give him a look.
Williams, on the other hand, may not have stats that are quite as eye-catching as McCaffrey, though they are undoubtedly strong, but it is the lack of immediate competition at cornerback that makes him one of the best team captains in Madden 21 Ultimate Team. Very likely, fans will be happy to have this Cardinals player on their teams all year long, and the same cannot be said with much certainty for the likes of George and Glover.
Indeed, fans may find that these two players are falling behind over the course of the year in a way that McCaffrey and Williams are not, and that is precisely why they are not recommended here. In fact, George already has some serious competition from NFL Epics Adrian Peterson, and it is only a matter of time before the Glover is outclassed as well. This is not to say that picking one of these two players is extremely problematic, and George may even be the best-performing team captain upon the release of Madden NFL 21, but rather that they do not have the longevity of McCaffrey and Williams.
